Probably selected the wrong team from the drop down menusmile I know it's just fantasy but the Flyers are pretty high on Zamula and Myers. Braun will not be a big loss however.

I'm not 100% convinced. Myers obviously has some nice potential but not sure he's quite ready for the #1 pairing minutes Toronto would have to give him. Ghost @ 3.5 is nice assuming he returns to his previous form, no guarantee of that happening (he hasn't looked awesome this year) and it's not a slam dunk he's that much better then Dermott right now. The prospect is a potential guy but already 21 and played in the ECHL this year, so no guarantee he turns out to be anything.

Kap is their major trade chip, they would have to be sure to be getting rid of him. I do think this trade probably makes Toronto better, but I would want to make sure this is the best possible deal before pulling the trigger. Losing Kap is bad and hurts the team, we should only move him if we're absolutely sure.

If I am the Leafs, I would be more than willing to do Dermott and Kapanen for Myers and Laughton. A 2-for-2 deal, no extra pieces. For the Leafs, Dermott's LH spot would then be filled by Sandin permanently, and Laughton could take over 3C from Kerfoot, who would shift to the wing.

Toronto trade big Yikes for Philly. JVR for scraps? Cmon he’s 28 with 3 years left at 7m after this season that’s very manageable. Don’t need to move him for scraps. He leaves a big hole for Philly as a net front scorer if you move him.

That was my thinking, dermott for myers, is a Toronto gain, but ghost for kapanen is a philly gain, laberge and a 3rd probably a tad high.

For me, I'm not a JVR fan, 7mil for a 25-30 goal, 45-50 pt guy is okay, but JVR is pretty one dimensional. To me, its cap space, its a young RH Juulsen, depth in Kulak, and two middling picks, basically a slight underpayment from MTL, but it frees PHI up cap space, to improve top six. But I see your point

If things don't turn around in NASH, I don't think its too bad, Zemula is a very good d prospect who was great at the WJC, O'Brien is looking very good, man among boys versus weak competition, braun makes the salaries work and doesn't hurt NASH, Sandstrom is a solid goalie prospect, and a 2nd and 2 4ths is pretty good. IMO, its two good prospects, a hit and miss (sandstrom), a 2nd, 2 4ths and an expiring salary. Maybe, not enough, but not too far off

Overall, In my opinion, I think some of these are close, and work for both teams. To get value, you have to give value.

Overall, the flyers get cap space, get younger, have better offense, slightly weaker defense. Losing older JVR, Ghost and Braun, (only mid aged Forsberg, kulak coming back) while bring in Dermott, Kapanen, Juulsen, while losing prospect depth and young quality guys in Myers and Zemula. The Flyers lose a bit on defense, losing braun, myers and ghost, but bringing in dermott, juulsen and kulak. The loss at forward of JVR is offset by addition of Forsberg and kapanen. The flyers without Patrick and lindblom still have ample prospects at forward: ratcliffe, Allison, brink, frost, farabee and have a younger defense in the nhl with prospects like ginning, York, etc still to come.

I think it helps MTL with a top six goal scoring winger, it helps TOR with defense, it helps NASH with a good influx of quality prospects.

These guys are not even in your top 10 for prospects. Nashville has tons of average prospects already why would they need more. If they would look to move Forsberg they would be looking at top prospects and/or a good selections of picks. Quality over quantity

No, it's not defensible. If you want a core player, give up a core player. None of those guys are core players nor are they likely to become such.
