Take the NYR approach - NYR NYI PIT BUF NSH

Created by: yikes
Team: 2019-20 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 21, 2020
Published: Jan. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Take the NYR route.
They did it well and the way teams should do it.

Just threw some big trades in but the thing I’d like to see is the sharks announce a change.

We can’t just wait around and hope things changes next year.

Announce a rebuild, be transparent and look yourself in the mirror and know what’s needed. Either keep or fire Wilson but a change is needed to the Majority roster of the team.

Hope you realize that Pittsburgh can't take that Burns cap hit. Buffalo should jump on that, losing Cozens would suck but Couture is exactly the type of player they are missing, an above average 2C.

Carolina straight up reject. You're not getting the eqivalent of 2 1sts from Carolina for LeBanc, they don't have a strong need for him. With Svechnikov - Aho - Teravainen, Dzingel - Haula - Necas, Niederreiter - Staal - Williams, they have a great top 9. Even Warren Foegele and Lucas Wallmark can score. They don't need Lebanc. However, you could flip us Georgiev and potentially get something

Moving almost 8 mil from bjustad and Johnson, it’ll fit if not then I’m hella close.

Ah then it would need to be changed maybe if it’s casey, couture moving for that price currently is fair.

Sharks are desperate for a goalie lmao. And Labanc has potential to take dzingels spot or Williams/staal longer term as he’s young but I get your point, will change the trade to the ISLES

Moving those two out opens up cap to resign guys like McCann, Kahun, Simon, Jarry, and Murray as well as would give flexibilty to resign schultz. Simply cant afford another 8 million dollar 30+ year old even though he is awesome.

Real talk, is Murray resigning i personally see him changing scenery, won the cup, been lights out, and now struggling and lost his position. I personally see him changing teams.

Murray’s 3 mil goes to jarry likely, and idk what the cap situation would be for McCann and Kahun and Simon leftover but at a chance for another cup it’d be close. I’m going to look at the long term pens cap with this move now

I dont see Murray or Jarry moving until maybe mid season next season. GMJR will want them both for a cup run this season as Jarry still has a small sample size. Murray has also won 5 straight starts. DeSmith is the most likely to move but doubt he does as GMJR loves his goalie depth. I dont see the cap to get Burns still. Look forward to looking at your post.

Too much for Labanc. It would be a 1st and 2nd or Bellows and 2nd.

Ho Sang isn’t any value and what about conditional first?

I do not believe Ho-Sang has value which is why I didn't mention him. Maybe he can get a 7th, but more likely an add-in to any trade if a team wants him.

Sure, a conditional first based on the Isles winning the cup.

Lol; let’s be fair.

A first conditioned on labancs output during the playoffs and their distance. Let’s say a .50 ppg or more in the playoffs and the isles advancing to the 2nd round. (Winning the first round). So he has to be contributing and not freeloading. If they get to the ECF but he has 6pts in 16 GP or whatever then no first.

The Preds do need defense depth, but I'd like to think we can achieve that adequately without spending for someone like Dillon. But we can keep this in mind as a fallback option. wink
