Offseason and TDL moves- attempting to fix the Sabres a bit

Created by: AndrewLadd
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 22, 2020
Published: Jan. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Thought process:
PIT trade- Sabre’s get rid of Miller who was clogging up the D, and PIT gets some good D insurance. Galchenyuk is a reclamation project and if he has a decent showing at the end of the 19-20 season he is rewarded with that contract.
NYR trade- Buffalo trades for Georgiev and now has a good, young tandem
SJS trade- they get another goalie, I mean they could use them, could be any team
CAR trade- I feel like this one is controversial, but I kinda like it. They get their replacement for Dougie and when he comes back they’ll have a very strong right side
NYI trade- NYI cap dump while Buffalo gets a pick in return
Signings- I feel like I could be off on the Montour and Olofsson contracts. I’m not sure about them
Lines- I’m not a Sabres fan so I wouldn’t know best, but I think the 1st line would work well with Eichel, especially since they all have a dangerous shot, they could seriously score some goals. Galchenyuk is surrounded by talented wingers so he can put up a decent showing. The D with DeMelo I think is gonna be better at the PK now, a little more tough and better defensively. The whole 4th line can rotate when needed with Thompson.

Isles may say yes, depends if the re-sign Martin. If not Leo just becomes part of their 4th line.

If Buffalos trading for Galchenyuk, theyd do it before the TDL, and they could get him for cheaper. They arent going to trade Risto, especially if they moved Miller. They have no need for Georgiev, definitely not at that cost. Cozens will more than likely go to the A and would be a C or RW
