Trades
BUF
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (STL)
  2. 2022 5th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
We have a surplus of RHD and gets another one? Not to mention the left side being a major weak point behind Dahlin. Now we lost those picks and won’t get anything back or absorb a cap hit essentially. Jason is an idiot.

I Imagine he thought Risto would be traded already. Didn't get what he wanted so he kept him until the he gets a better offer.

He made the Miller trade before the Joker trade. Miller has been fine when he's played, so I have no idea why he's in the doghouse, especially over bogosian.

I would like to point out if you're playing Bogosian over Miller, the blame shouldn't fall on your GM

He’s the only GM that operates in the future ig. That’s preliminary. You can’t make a move for another corresponding move. Especially if you don’t make it.

I think he expected to get the return he wanted on Risto but it never came. What has happened has been fine in my opinion, Risto has upped his value to where his asking price may be satisfied.

Also Miller doesn’t look to have plummeted his trade value if that’s the route they go, he’s played fine and could fetch a top-9 forward

Yeah that usually isn't the best way to do things but sometimes you have to act fast and make other decisions later.

Toronto analytics blogger geniuses proclaimed him to be as good or better than Trouba according to advanced stats. They proclaimed him to be a diamond in the rough, and I guess Buffalo advanced stats employees bought into it as well.

I guess he can still be a decent top 4 PMD.

1.) It was before the jokiharju trade
2.) Everyone thought he was moving ristolainen, maybe something fell through
3.) Bogosian was hurt at the time and I have no idea why he is getting playing time

we already know botterill was looking to move ristolainen but he's also playing montour on the left side some, where he's been fine. our team is much better defensively and 5-on-5 than last year. the PP and PK have been bad and that's been the difference in a lot of games. here's my two cents on miller:

(1) botterill is playing bogosian to try and get something for him at the deadline. if he's not traded by then, he needs to be buried in rochester for the rest of the season. hopefully he's had that talk with miller to say you are part of the future and jokiharju fell in our lap.
(2) miller has to play better. i'm not sure if he lost interest and he probably didn't want to be traded from vegas to buffalo but if he played at a level that forced him to be a top-4, that opportunity was there for him. he knew that was the case and looked the part through 10 games but went south after that. i'm not blaming him, but if he was better, he'd be playing every night. watching the games, i don't have a problem with him in the press box if i'm correct about #1. going forward, if he stays as our #3RHD, where he excelled in vegas, i can live with it.
(3) we're one RHD trade away from normal. if ristolainen is moved, bogosian will either be dealt from a 6th, benched, or buried and then we have a RHD of montour-jokiharju-miller, which is pretty good. if miller plays like a top 4 D, you can go dahlin-jokiharju and montour-miller.

Simple everyday stuff, everyone hangs on to potential hype ForEver on cf. It's ridiculous. Miller has been a spare, potential no longer applies just because he was signed as a long term lock! He's now a cap hindrance

I honestly think bogosian has been so bad that nobody would want him, even at 50%, for a late pick and a short term dump. On paper, a team might like him for physical play as maybe a 7 for the playoffs. Hes played his way out of that, hes a liability, and with 3 recent hip surgeries and a poor track record of staying healthy, why bother. Hopefully when the deadline passes and he doesnt get moved, he can be moved to the press box. I know he wants another contract, but all hes showing is he is done.

I think Miller has better play in him than he has shown but you got to be able to get it out of him - I have nothing against Montour In fact I think he's pretty good but that's the guy I'd try to move for a forward
