I wouldnt mind that trade either. Personally I think Jost moving out for Kreider makes the most sense bc if they Avs want to add a Top 6 foward, they need to open up a spot on their roster and Jost seems like the most likely candidate to be shuffled out

Has Vesalainen fallen out of favor in WPG? Seems like an overpay for Skjei.

5 year cost friendly contract on a 25 year old fringe top pair d man who still has some upside. I thought it was an underpay.

I think its close to fair, only thing i would change is the second condition to guaranteed 2020 1st rounder if they make the WCF.

Don't know enough about Beaucage to give a real accurate comment on the COL trade...maybe a COL fan can give some input on his status in the Avs prospect pool?
Other than that...not crazy about the conditions...who knows if the Avs are going to be that interested in resigning their rental? Their cap situation looks good now- but they have several players that will be looking for BIG money during the time Kreider is under contract...and as far as the WCF- like the Avs chances...but going through (most likely ) Dallas AND St Louis to get there...don't love that bet.

No he hasn’t fallen out of favour. Chevy has been patient with him, this is his first full year in NA and as of late his game has picked up. He got the call up and is going to play tonight. Jets have a bonehead coach that thinks it’s a good idea to put him on the 4th line lol. I don’t like this trade for WPG especially considering they will slide. I can guarantee that. Including last nights game vs CAR they’re going to go 2-8 at best. I don’t see WPG even coming close to playoffs this year. The only reason they’re close now is because of Hellebuycks heroics early this season. They need to be retooling not buying this TDL.

I get that Skjei is 25 and on a decent contract. But we already have jomo to be our top pairing LD and Samberg who is a beast in college should be able to play top 4 next year. This isn’t a trade worth it for wpg. It just creates a log jam on D.

That's a big no from Carolina thanks. Rees has been a STUD and a first and 2nd for a 3C, and 2 prospects you want gone? I'll pass thanks

I'd say he's a decent 3D, good 4D. He's been forced into a top role pair because the other 2 LD on our team are a traffic cone and a rookie.

I can see down the road Skjei being bumped out of NY due to our LD prospects coming up, so I do think we should trade him at some point soon (I don't think he gets protected in the expansion draft). Probably at the draft would be a better time to move him. More teams would be potential trade partners and since he does have a good amount of term left, there's no rush to move him at this deadline.

I totally agree, although jost has been playing a little better lately, hopefully it can raise his value a little more as well if we move on him

Jost can be more in this league but I just don’t see him getting there on the avs. They could be patient and wait it out with him but when they have a cup shot, make the move. Jost on a team building up in a elevated role that they can be patient with, he will look much better. I
