Really? If he did he would have people begging for him. He has no value. He’s 23, no work ethic. Only cares about offense. I wouldn’t want him on my team.

Ceci definitely has value. I wouldn't say that SDA or Korshkov are untouchable

He's a top offensive talent that can play in a middle 6 role and a PP specialist. And ONLY 23.

I guess you could say negative value is a value

LMAO a "top offensive talent" then you go onto say "that can play in a middle 6 role"....that's not a "top offensive talent" btw

People act like Ceci has negative value for some reason I don't quite get. Anaheim gave up a pick for 2 years of Gudbranson at a similar cap hit for 2 years. Someone would give up a late pick for a couple months of Ceci to either add depth for the playoffs or give him a tryout to see if he'd fit on their team for next year.

Not at all. He has positive value. Hes been statistically fine in his role and there are tons of teams looking for guys like him. Hes a big right handed D who plays lots of minutes. He isnt good in those minutes but he still plays them. Teams give up assets for guys like Jack Johnson, eric gudbranson, nikita zaitsev and guys way worse. There are teams who would go after ME vlasic and ceci is way better then him- vlasic is onthe worst contract in the nhl

Jonhnsson and Kap are both on pace for 14 to 16 goals and carry over $3M cap hits. They are not worth above market value, they are worth market value; their cap hits reflect their production well.

Tyson Barrie above market value? Not a chance after the season he is having

Bracco does have value it's just not a lot.

If the Leafs want a player like Dumba or Zucker, plenty of AGM trades on here with them, they will need to move someone from the LW column or be ready to include Engvall plus Kap plus a 1st and more. Engvall though, is someone the Leafs should keep, would love to have in a Hawks sweater.

Besides Matthews, there really should be zero untouchables for a team that hasn't won a cup in 53 years and has had 3 first round exits in a row. There's probably only 5 players in the league that are truly untouchable.

I wouldn't play him above the 3rd line. No matter what people say about him he is a fantastic passer. Probably just as good as marner. Hes pretty bad in all other areas but he legitimately is a fantastic passer on the pp. I'm not lying when I say he could join most teams right away and become their 1st pp QB

He'd probably be on Winnipegs 1st pair. There are probably 15 teams out there that are regularly giving minutes to worse defenseman

Projecting 3 goals in 40 AHL games as a "top offensive talent" is a little rich.

I posted this in a thread last night re: AHL success-

AHL leading scorers for the past few years:

2019-20: Reid Boucher
2018-19: Carter Verhaege
2017-18: Chris Terry
2016-17: Kenny Agostino
2015-16: Christopher Bourque
2014-15: Brian O’Neill

This is a fun list.

Ceci is a much worse defender than Vlasic, but he is expiring so yes hes not going to take a ton to move like Vlasic would, but no teams going to take Ceci for the rest of their year with that cap hit

That's not true at all. Vlasic hasn't been able to play an nhl shift for 2 seasons now. Ceci is an an average defender based on a few xg models. There are tons of worse defenseman making more then him

The better one is not Ceci, hes not awful but his cap hit makes him worthless in the current cap strapped league

Hes pretty bad. If you compare their stats, play driving, defensive numbers and isolated impact it shows that ceci is better. Micah Blake Mccurdy's xg shows ceci as the better defensive defenseman
