Imagine believing a man that created a 20+ year playoff streak for your team is somehow bad at his job because there are a couple contracts you don’t like left behind. What a ridiculous train of thought. You’re like the kid that gets a free box of 24 doughnuts and then screams bloody murder because 2 of them dont have sprinkles on them. You’re delusional.

I don't eat donuts. Kenny is one of the worse GMs in the history of the NHL. The only reason the Wings had that 25 year playoff record is because Mike Ilitch spent money in UFA like George Steinbrenner did in MLB. That 2002 Stanley Cup wasn't cheap! Kenny couldn't manage a Buy-Here/Pay-Here lot let alone manage an NHL team in the cap area.

No cap era holland was one of the best, cap era holland has been very questionable in drafting, trades and signings for his last 5 or so seasons in Detroit

There is some merit to criticize Holland’s ability to be a gm during today’s nhl landscape

As a Wings fan we anxiously await the expiration on his contract. I'm goofing on Holland's inability to manage a hockey team.

On paper he looks great then you find out that he won't play physical and he doesn't hit anyone.

I think you are wrong. Every GM does bad trades and bad signings. I believe that he will be amazing for Edmonton, and slowly carry us to the playoffs. He is already better then Chirelli that’s for sure!

Kenny may do well in Edmonton. Time will tell. As pointed out earlier he was pressured by Mike Ilitch to sign all these bad contracts and make all those bad trades. Personally I don’t buy that. I’ve been a Wings fan all my life and think that Kenny did it all on his own. Mr. Ilitch was more concerned about building his Pizza! Pizza! empire.

On another note one could also criticize his drafting record. Sure, Zadina, Veleno And Rasmussen fell into his lap but the guy drafted Tom McCollum (who?) over Jake Allen.

That’s rough! So far I think his drafting for Edmonton has been good thankfully! At least he would be an upgrade from Peter Chiarelli.
