With that goaltending tandem, you can expect a 1st round exit or 2nd if you're lucky.

Hamilton should be back for the playoffs IMO.

Reimer and Mrazek have been surprisingly good recently, especially Reimer. I think goaltending will be addressed in the offseason rather than the deadline, anyways.

They should be outstanding playing behind that defense (minus the recent loss of Hamilton) not just good.

Why would we expect a first round exit? Our goaltending numbers are better than last year and we made it to the ECF so the logic isnt really there.

Because the other teams didn't stand pat. Washington is looking even better or is Boston. PIT will likely make a move to grab a top 6 winger, Florida is looking dangerous and they are starting to click plus have arguably the best coaching staff, obviously can't rule out Tampa. I would argue every one of these teams is going to be difficult for Carolina to get by.

This is a bad take.

I know you are trying to make an argument, but what is different about those teams this year? Pretty much nothing...

Whats new about the canes this year? Necas, Dzingel, Haula, Edmundson, Gardiner, Reimer.... im sure im forgetting someone.

I guess I could throw in the vast improvement of Svech and Dougie....

I do like how you threw in the 'Piits might add a winger' tears of joy
