Realistic Deadline

Created by: Ducks11
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 22, 2020
Published: Jan. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Keeping Manson. Not sure why he's thrown into every other trade proposal here.

Both the Eakin and Backes trades help Vegas and Boston free up cap space for them to add more during the deadline.

St. Louis Blues - Any interest in Ducks then flipping a discounted Backes (Ducks retain 50%) back to the Blues?

I've explored the issue of whether the Bruins have to pay anyone a first to take Backes off their hands, and concluded with some assurance that they don't. A third is about the best we can expect. Backes, a third and a sixth for Boyle is about right, and something we could afford. (By the way, I'd much rather have Connor Clifton than any draft pick, but the Boston guys tell me I'm hallucinating.)

Makes sense. With Boston's cap, seems like they are in a decent spot with all of their salaries. Didn't know if they are looking to add something bigger at the deadline.

Is that true for Eriksson as well?

No, because Eriksson has two years left on his contract, not one.

How much more would it cost to offload him?

3rd + prospect?

2nd + prospect?

Moving out Backes still frees up space to re-sign players, namely Krug. However, you are right. Why do that now?

1st for me. He’s awful and that contract is still fairly long and big.
