Wow that's awful, one of the best prospects in the world right now, for half a year of aging Kovy, who will definitely not have the same success in Washington because of much less ice time and opportunities.

The future is now for Washington, and the team will have its boom and bust over time. It's a boom time now, the Capitals should be all in.

Ovechkin and Kovalchuk on the same team, both totally motivated to win the Stanley Cup this year! Ouch. Lucky you man!

That's not even close to Erat/Forsberg. The only thing I can agree on is that it's trading the future for the present.

This is a terrible deal. A great prospect, but the thing is that there is no way the Caps give up that much, as they will have learned their lesson after making trades like Forsberg for Erat, and sending Tomas Fleischmann for Scott Hannan. If they wanted Kovy, they should have scooped him up in Free Agency when they could.
