I mean to be fair this is 2 years down the road. Samberg will be ready for top 4 duties (2LD) for 2020-2021 season. Heinola already had a great outing as an 18 year old so he’s likely ready next year. Niku is finally getting back into rhythm after injuries this year. Pair that with some growth from F prospects in Harkins, gustafsson and Vesalainen as well as a really solid G prospect in Berdin I think we’ll get back to a solid contender. There’s literally no reason to resign Lowry btw (meant for OP) as gustafsson will likely be 2x the player Lowry is by then.

I’m an Oiler fan. I’ve thought that mid level prospects were the cure for a long time. I’m just saying step carefully into commitment to that plan. Expecting 3 rookies that not many people outside of Winnipeg have ever heard of to elevate you to contender status is a dangerous game

Oh trust me I know it’s happened in the past. I guess people who don’t watch the jets or follow the them seriously wouldn’t know these guys but if you’re a dedicated fan you know them and how solid they are. I do think we’re going to need to make some staffing changes first before anything changes haha. God our coaches just aren’t getting it done. Our systems are failing and things need to change in that department before anything serious happens.

Wheeler is looking absolutely exhausted playing center now so there's no way he'll be able to play center two seasons from now, they should absolutely prioritize drafting a center in the 1st round this summer.
