That's a funny way of spelling Tim Stutzle.

My gut feeling suggests that Krug will need an extra million to be pried out of Boston.

Why in the hell would we want Brendan Smith back? We've no need for him. He was dealt for a reason. Chock garbage, Chock garbage, Chock garbage.

You don't want him back, but NYR due to cap needs someone moved back. They give a 3rd to take Smith.

I was debating using a 2nd there. If both sides think that a 2nd is more fair I'll make the change.

This will be one of those drafts where who's picking where is going to heavily dictate who goes where. The only "guarantees" are Lafreniere and Byfield at #1 and #2 respectively. I also don't believe that there's a consensus after those first two picks.

For instance, if Anaheim ends up with the #3 pick, Drysdale's their guy the whole way. I genuinely believe that Chicago is taking Askarov - no matter where they are in the draft - beyond those first two positions.

The DEL being a lesser European league might hurt Stutzle's chances of becoming a consensus #3. Raymond and Holtz are such good talents that if teams that consider Stutzle and/or the DEL to be a risk/incomparable league, there isn't a ton of downside to passing on the German. If Rossi keeps torching the OHL the way he has, his name could work its way into some teams' top lists. There's bound to be at least one team that reaches on a defender, but that's probably a reality for outside the top-5.

I think Stutzle should go third, and the odds of Detroit dropping to 3rd or 4th aren't huge. Either way, he should be the guy they're looking at.

The odds of Detroit dropping to 4th if they finish dead last are almost exactly 50%. "3rd or 4th" is 65%.

I must have the old lottery format on the brain. That's absurd. Thanks Oilers!

So the plan is to aim for Stutzle then. Anything else is an added bonus.

Dude you do so many proposal involving Detroit would it kill you to do a little research? Several sites for Wings fans have discussed the NYR trade for AA and one thing present in all of them is Detroit won't be taking Smith back.
