MTL PHI And PIT After The 2020 Draft

Created by: TheMooterus
Team: 2020-21 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 23, 2020
Published: Jan. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The only reason Dallas is in a playoff spot is because they statistically have the best goaltending duo in the NHL, right now. If their goaltending was even average, they would be near the bottom of the Western Conference. Their offense is anemic, and their defense has taken a step back from last year.

I see nothing that indicates that this team can make it past Colorado, Winnipeg, or St. Louis in the 1st round of the playoffs. If by some miracle they make it past the 1st round, they aren't making it past the 2nd. If Bishop regresses back to the mean, Dallas is in major trouble moving forward. Khudobin is a UFA after this season, and should land a short-term starting job elsewhere. He's earned it.

After the Stars lose in the 1st or 2nd round (again), they need to spearhead their re-tooling this offseason. If they wait too much longer, they will have to go through a full-on rebuild.

I like Lindell as a player, but not at that price. I can't see the Habs giving up two picks and two prospects for a 3-4 Dman who's earning $5.8M for 5 more years. I think there's room for a deal and Lindell would almost surely be of interest, especially if Romanov decides to stay in Russia. Ylonen and Juulsen would not be hard to have sent in the deal, but the 2021 first would likely not make it to the table. The Habs need to keep their #1s because it's almost impossible to get UFAs to sign in Montreal. I'd suggest Ylonen, Jordan Harris (or Struble) and 2 x second-rounders.

You should be ban for being a Habs fan. Ylonen is a top5 prospect in MTL organization including Kotkaniemi & Suzuki followed by Romanov and Caufield after Ylonen. MTL fans who doesn’t follow the prospect are sleeping on Ylonen. Struble have 9 points in is last 9 NCAA games and he’s 18 yo. Plus 2 2nd round picks L M A O get the **** out

Juulsens Career's done
he took a bad bump in early Dec and has yet to return to practice nor a game.

Concussion issues now he's having eye issues
they're not asking for much vs what they're giving up

MTL needs a Lindell more then a streaky Ylonen having issues with consistency , a injured Juulsen who will retire or a 3rd .
the only thing of value is the 1st and as long as its protected I think i'm ok with it .

Flyers would love that, but would have to move cap: Brink, a 3rd and Gotisbehere would work

Most of your trades seem realistic. So here’s what I think on each trade.

Lindell to the habs would be nice however his contract isn’t the greatest however as long the 1st is protected from the lottery then I’m fine.

I could easily see the Flyers wanting Radulov, but you’d have add some cap or retain more salary. So the price is pretty good.

Pittsburgh easily accepts the trade for Faska, there’s like nothing of value for the Pens expect for Bjorkqvist who I have no clue what’s his value.

The other 2 are cap dumps of players to their former teams. Nothing really of note.

maybe a 3 way trade with MTL where we retain 50% cap for a cheaper price on Lindell
PHI gives up its first and a 3rd with Brink and gets Radulov at 3.125m cap for 2 years I believe it is he has left .

something like

DAL Out = Radulov to MTL(retain 3.125m then trade to PHI )
DAL Out = Lindell

DAL In =Ylonen,juulsen 2nd and a 3rd
DAL in = Brink , 1st and 2nd

PHI Out= Gostisbhere and Morin
PHI Out =Brink , 1st and 2nd

PHI In= Radulov 3.125m cap
PHI In= Evans, 2nd and 3rd (conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if MTL wins cup with Ghost before 2021 draft)

MTL Out= Ylonen , Juulsen,2nd and 3rd
MTL Out= Evans ,2nd and 3rd

MTL In = Lindell and 3.125m retained over 2 years
MTL In = Gostisbhere and Morin(Laval Native and perfect Captain for the Career AHL player)

DAL gets 3 Depth prospects to refill their charts with 1st ,two 2nds and a 3rd
MTL gets two top 4 D under contract fixing their long time D problems indefinitely
PHI gets Radulov production at Connoly prices,1 Depth prospect 2nd and a 3rd .

All teams accomplish what they want and are better teams
PHI gets to overload their offense and move Gostisbhere in a scenario that makes them a better team today and tomorrow .
DAL gets to invest in their youth selling off their assets at a premium
MTL gets to fix the **** show they call a Dcore without losing a 1st or a roster play (which seems to offend all habs fans on this site)
