Why do i see every habs ACGM trading Kovy? Pretty sure if anyone wanted him they would have signed him for basically free

I mean if you think about it the habs are the only team that at the time was trying to make the playoffs and had top 6 minutes available due to the lack of talent and injuries they have in their top 6. I dont think any other team contending can give him those minutes. After what happened in LA i dont think anyone wants to take the risk with him. Might be wrong tho, cuz who knows what GMs be thinkin sometimes

The Habs gave Kovalchuk the opportunity to succeed, and he has been doing just that. Leaving out ELC, who else has a pro-rated salary of $700,000 producing a point per game in 2020 (smaller sample but still multiple weeks in to his new digs).
There are many teams who are up against the cap ceiling. It only takes an injury or two on those teams for MB's phone to start ringing.
