Nice oilers trade ...oil get a scoring winger on the cheap for two yrs but gotta part with some decent futures ...and Kenny drafted and developed Tatar in DET ...nicely done

Yes, I did. The term "rebuild" doesn't mean you have to go a year without showing any benefit from the trade.

"Rebuild" means replacing older players with younger ones. Here, you're replacing a valuable player with a pick that may never turn out, a player who may never return to North America, a guy who belongs in the AHL on the downside of his not-very-notable career, and a guy who isn't even signed into the system. It's possible you will have traded Tatar for four stiffs who may never play a minute for the Canadiens or, indeed, ever set skate on the ice for any NHL team.

That's why you sign UFAs stop gap and tank next year. Montreal isn't winning with this team. Time for changes.
