No one has said that ever. Seems you’re just mad that the Bracco plus a pick offers won’t cut it and the Rangers want a better asset in return. In typical fashion its now time to trash him right? Too easy to see coming. Childish. Very childish.

Come on, don't be ridiculous. NYR can't afford Nylander just give them another 1st.

Nah I know Bracco and a pick isn’t enough, but Kapanen? When has a team ever traded a 2RW with more potential for a fringe starter?

No, but jeremy Bracco, on the last year of his ELC with zero nhl games despite a plethora of call ups, is confused with an NHL hockey player with trade value about 35 times a day

Na I'd say the hype around him is off the charts right now. Ask from NYR fans is unrealistic so don't make offers. Just keep him.

Why does one still have potential yet the other doesn’t ? You said Kapanen has more potential and implied Georgiev will just be a fringe starter and has no more potential. Seems a one sided view considering their close in age and goalies take longer to develop.

Because goalies are tricky. We don’t know if he’s going to grow even more or max out. Kapanen on the other hand has proven he’s a 2 RW

Bracco should be worth at least a 4th to a team that can get him in their lineup at the end of the season.

It’s equivalent like Lindblom and a 2nd for Georgiev which we can both agree is bad for the Flyers

Kapanens more a 3RW in my opinion but I do agree goalie growth is a crap shoot most of the time.

Well...it's too bad if NYR want more than a prospect+pick for a backup goalie. Look what Ben Bishop and Grubaur went for in those trades at the point in their careers....both were backups at best.

Now Bishop has gone on and become a starter later in his career but Ottawa did not get starter value for him and Washington didn't get starter value for Grubaur either so NYR should not be able to fetch more than what these teams got.

Post TDL, teams will have space on their roster so they'll be calling up prospects but they may want to give a kid like Bracco a look. If the team doesn't have their own Bracco, they may covet the original Bracco.

I just like saying Bracco.

Kapanen for Georgiev straight up is fair. With the second it’s too much

Lindblom for Georgiev straight up is probably fair. With the second again it’s too much.

Difference is Philly doesn’t need a backup goalie and has Hart and Elliott/Lyon currently and a few other decent goalie prospects in the system.

Toronto on the other hand desperately needs a backup and may need a cheaper starter option in a few years. Georgiev provides that.

Kapanen has proven he can be the 3rd best player on the 2nd line, nothing more. does he have 2RW potential yes but he is currently a 3RW that is fast and fairly solid defensively. Georgiev bascially took over the starting role in NYR this year from Hank. If you are going to talk about ones proven abilities you have to talk about both

Think the title of this post is very accurate as I have never heard so much hype and non-sense about the value of an NHL goalie who is really an unproven commodity. If you believe in buying low and selling high then the Leafs should be running from acquiring Georgiev.

Agreed. I also enjoy saying "Bracco". If we can all come up with 10 ways to use "Bracco" as an adjective, his value might skyrocket!

There are less expensive options, I get what NYR wants but wants are just that wants, at the current asking price no one is biting on Georgiev cause he is unproven regardless of what NYR management and their fans think - unproven Goalie, fringe starter maybe - if he has 4 bad games back to just a backup
