Need Greenway or Fiala from minnestoa instead of Donato. Deal can change but those are the 2 i want.

The Detroit deal is solid imo from an oilers fan.

To much to give up on a chance that he will find his game. As for the first trade Donato is low cost. Blake Coleman would be superb

Put Donato w/ McDavid and he'd be a 30G guy.

Hunh? Brandon Manning is a minus; I can't imagine Yzerman giving up a pizza for him.

Y’all can take Gagner or Granlund. It doesn’t matter, they need to be added to make the trade work. Salary filler or Detroit can retain half of AA’s AAV to make the deal work.

Does he play C/W? Cus if he does, then he’d be a great target too. I like Josh Anderson too but we have Chiasson right now and Yamo/Archibald/Kassian are all playing well in the lineup.

I also like both, I think it’d take a little more to get Fiala though. Does Greenway play C/W? Cus if he does he’d be a great target as well.

Yeah i dont know i think detroits keeps AA and moves him at the draft. The value is just too low. Im not sure holland wants him either. There didn't seem to be much love with those 2

It's a one year salary dump on Manning, they get a mid 2nd round pick in a deep draft and samorukov is a top prospect that they can use on the back end. You're crazy If you don't take that deal

Manning is a UFA and the chance of him signing with the Wings is slim to none. So why do you want to rent Manning?

I want the other part of the package, Manning is just a dump for them, we let him walk who cares

So tell me what part of this deal is the compensation for taking on Manning's cap hit.

We are getting a good prospect and a high pick for AA and taking a bad contract. Who cares about Benning, it's not your money, it's just a throw in for them and we have plenty of cap space. We play him for the next 4 weeks and if he plays well trade him at the deadline for another 3rd/4th pick, if he sucks let him walk for free at the end of the year. I don't see it as a big deal to get a great prospect and a high pick

Aside from the fact that you're unlikely to get more than a seventh-round pick for a bad AHLer, the reasoning that "once we get fair value for Athanasiou, anything additional in the trade doesn't matter" is simply ridiculous.

I think the value of a 2nd and Samorukov exceeds enough for Detroit to basically just take on Manning’s contract for 2 months. Not every player involved in a deal has to have value. That is why you see some teams adding AHLers to some NHL deals for the sake of contract numbers.

He’s also not going to paid 2M by Detroit. It’ll be whatever is left (pro-rated). And again, Manning doesn’t have to be involved. They could simply retain 50% and the dollars will work.

I don't see Samorukov being than much of a boon to Detroit. He looks to me like third in line on the left for your team (behind Jones and Broberg) and could well be fourth on that side for Detroit. That's why I think that there has to be some additional compensation for taking on a minus like Manning.

Manning has a remaining cap hit of $454,839 which will be lower at the deadline - what is that really worth?? He's already overpaying for AA.

Samorukov is only behind Jones in age and experience. He has a much higher ceiling.
