Perfect Opportunity to go ALL IN

Created by: Coleharborcrosby

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 23, 2020

Description
Guentzel on LTIR presents incredible opportunity to go all in one more time for this group.

Wanted Pens to sign Kovalchuk but they didn`t so now they pay the price. Pens need that shooting threat on the half wall and Kovalchuk would be perfect. Haven`t been able to make powerplay work since Kessel left.

Could also use a dman but I can`t see it really happening unless JGP trade didn`t happen. Not sure who Sullivan would take out of healthy dcore lineup right now either.

EDM could take a flier on Galchenyuk as they are looking for scoring help.

I think the hockey trade GMJR is discussing right now centers around Zucker-Bjugstad. Minny needs centers, younger players and Guerin has history with Pens and Bjugstad and wouldn`t mind clearing a bit of cap for this summer. Bjugstad also local guy. Pens will have to sweeten it up a bit but I think Minny would bite on that.

Obviously a lot of moving parts but I think this is the time to go all in one more time and I feel like that's what the Pens are thinking as well so I wouldn`t be surprised to see multiple moves before deadline.

Healthy Lines

Guentzel-Crosby-Zucker
Kovalchuk-Malkin-Rust
McCann-Pageau-Hornqvist
ZAR-Blueger-Tanev

Unfortunately Kahun would likely be odd man out despite playing well recently but would be good insurance for other injuries and until Pens get healthy.

If they ABSOLUTELY had to then sure but they would probably scratch or send to minors so then Pens would probably just trade somewhere else

Bjugstad > JGP - Just bc he had a high shooting % at beginning of season, U dont trade the better "Player" (Juggs) for another small forward (JGP) that is even more injury prone than Juggs

I really like the Kovalchuk idea. If he keeps building confidence for the next 30 games...he’d be a sneaky lethal option in playoffs.

Lord knows he’d be excited to join a hot Pens club with a healthy Crosby and Malkin and a deep crease.

hahaha habs fans will hate this but .
send Galchenyuk back in the Kovalchuk deal with the 3rd .

if Kovy can change his attitude and rebound maybe Galchenyuk comes back slotting in beside Domi with new found purpose .
you're basically giving him away anyhow

Kovalchuk great idea pens did not want him for free so trade a 3rd for him. Kovalchuk would be in Sullys dog house in less then 1 period and banned to no ice time. He is the exact opposite of the type of player the pens need.

wild laugh and hang up the phone. billy g may block number after that offer. The pens would be better off with JGP at 3rd line center Than Bjugstad by a long shot. JGP is better at faceoffs, at the traditional 3rd line shutdown role, pk, and he is a proven playoff guy

Toronto fans get told for months that is not enough for DeSmith. If that's all it would take, the deal should have been done a month ago.

I would take Pageau over Bjugstad no questions asked and it has nothing to do with his goal amount at all. Pens have wanted him for years now. Bjugstad is good player no doubt though.

Who knows they were likely internal questions for both teams but I`d be alright with return for Desmith so if Leafs want him from now till deadline have at er`

I know what you mean but I don`t think there is any way MTL wants him back and Galechenyuk definitely doesn`t want to play there either. Deal as is would be fine unless bidding war brought price up but I can`t see any team trading a 2nd

Agree JGP is better suited for 3C role on Pens. Pens have been gunning for him for years now.

Disagree completely on Zucker...and you didn`t even give one reason how that trade wouldn`t work. It would. Or is very close.

trade doesnt work because the wild want more than a 3rd line center/wing and two picks one next year the other a 4th come on. at the very least its a 1st and a good prospect (center) and a 3rd seems to be about whats wanted. crap you offered more for jgp than zucker. come on

Ughhhhh pretty sure that a team with a guy who has scored 60+ points and 30+ goals once in his career and has been rumoured with trades because of a bad fit with team would definitely take a hometown kid that is a 6 6 center who can score plus picks. Deal could be done as is or very close to it.

he is only rumored to be in trades do to too many wingers in minny and kid coming over next year. just cause i guy is 6 6 and a home town kid doesnt increase his value. Saad is rumored to be of interest to the pens should they over pay because he is from the area. trochek is from area to should the pens trade malkin for him.
the wild have a higher value on zucker just because you want him on pens doesnt mean they wont want his true value

or you know your flat out wrong and have no response fact is Zucker has more value than an overpaid 3rd line center and a 2nd round pick and 4th round pick. look at the other threads in here everyone has Bjugstad value at a mid round pick and zucker at a first an top prospect.

look on hfboards trade rumors and free agent talk ,Rumor: Penguins interested in Zucker https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/penguins-interested-in-zucker.2728419/ every offer in that thread is worlds better than the garbage you spew on here. you are the clueless one
