No NTCs waived

Created by: BeterChiarelli
Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 23, 2020
Published: Jan. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Everything here done under the impression that players will not waive their NTC's, and that I can only work with Killorn's M-NTC to free up cap space.

I know very little about the Tampa system: this was an exercise in the curiosity of the Lightning's cap situation and what could be done to fix it.

Elaborate. I don't have anywhere's near the intimacy with this team as you would.

Nice.

But where are you sending him - knowing he's absolutely a cap casualty - where he'll be willing to waive AND the other team can afford him? Tampa cannot realistically ask for fair value when every team in the league is privy to how bad their cap situation is at the moment.

Moore in that case was so Boston could take his cap hit on. There's 16 teams on that list of his he can go to: if there's a better deal out there for the Lightning, please point me out to it, but I don't see teams lining up to do the Bolts a favour.

I would send him to Colorado for a decent return.

Nashville for Killorn.

I think Smith tries his luck somewhere else, and they have always been short on guys like Killorn on their left side.
They won't give up as much but you don't need to take a cap dump back.

Maybe Rem Pitlick and a 2nd and a 3rd?
NSH might not be doing that great this year, but i don't think they're done buying.

Why on earth would Tampa help Boston get better?
That just makes zero sense

Kilorn is having a great season
There will be plenty of good teams willing to trade for him
Idk who he’d waive for,
but i do feel reasonably certain that Tampa wouldn’t even consider helping their biggest division competition

I don't know what is with these Tampa AGM's thinking you'll be able to sign guys even cheaper than before.

Cernak will get a minimum of 3.5
DeAngelo will want a minimum of 4

They both could get more elsewhere I expect an offer sheet for cernak 99%

Killorn is on a shooting % spike without the overall play increasing. He is primed for regression.
Even worse is that his shot rate is actually declining, which is the #1 red flag for a guy who is about to drop off a cliff.Keep him for the season, trade him after his NMC expires and get whatever you can from some poor GM who doesn't know what is about to happen.
