going over the trades and i was like this seems reasonable then hit the MTL deal
we dont want Leddy , after this year we'll have to many D what we need is an upgrade on Mete or pending UFA like Martinez

what we dont need is another aging D with term just to lose him to Seattle when we cant protect him
its the definition of a lose / lose for MTL

He's just been a popular name to go to MTL but i get you. Ultimately see him being shipped out for picks to someone

Flames Andersson extension is probably fairer value and smarter term for NYI with Pulock.

$4.55M x 6 years

Even a 4-5 year deal is better for NYI in my view, assuming the player is into it, and I think Pulock would be.

He’s on LTIR but they are paying him, don’t think the Kings retained anything? I can’t find that information anywhere if they did.

Melnyks player insurance thing, all of the ones on LTIR rn he doesn't have too pay

The trade with NJ seems fair. But Ottawa is not trading the Isles almost $5 million in cap relief and a 4th round pick for Clutterbuck and Dal Colle. Dal Colle is a former 1st round pick, but he's no longer considered a top prospect. Clutterbuck is a injury prone 4th liner who's making $3.5 million. No way Ottawa relieves the Isles of almost $8.5 million in cap space and a 4th round pick for Dal Colle. The trade is completely unrealistic and will never happen. Same with Montreal... No way Montreal retains $2 million when they could get more in trade for Tatar without retaining salary, as well as assuming Leddy's $5.5 million cap hit. The Leafs traded a 1st round pick to relieve themselves of marleau's $6.25 million contract, so expect to pay a lot more in trade for cap relief.

The difference is that Pulock is a #1D, which Andersson isn't yet, so were Chychrun and aHanifin when they signed that type of deal
