Why would the hawks ever do that though?

There's no logic to my next sentence...More gut. I think if Getz comes to CHI it'll be a DStrome swap because Stan hasn't made any headway on a new contract. Obviously other parts involved, but that would be the core pieces.

***EDIT*** I'd swap Nylander and Caggulia. Allow botht he 3rd and 4th lines to have some grit and playmaking ability. I do think that 2nd line would cycle the heck out of everyone. STRONG possession line. Keep Boqvist with Keith. I do worry about the cap next year though. Shaw included?

CHI has won their cups and did it well they are an aging team who need to start to get younger, they are up against the cap and have 4 rfa and both of the goalies coming off the books next season. it may be time for CHI to start selling off some of their older assets and start rebuilding, maybe im wrong i dont follow CHI very closely.

Neither the ducks or Blackhawks would do this

If they going to try to make a run this year, certainly makes this team better; that 2nd line would be dangerous and allow the first line to be stable.

Spitballing and there is a chance Getz gets moved and at his age, they can get a 1st and a prospect or two.

If they were in a playoff spot now, sure, I guess there’s some logic to it. Not right now though. Team still wouldn’t have a chance if this trade went through anyway.

Makes no sense for the hawks to give up that much for a aging forward that has 2 years max left in his career

They are, 3 points out, so they're definitely in the race and the teams in front of them aren't particularly strong.

Same as last year. I’m not antagonizing, I’m just being a realist. Hawks have plenty of inconsistent teams ahead of them, but there’s nothing they have this year that makes them too different from last year. Dach and boqvist are no where near to get them over the line, and getzlaf doesn’t change anything with our center core, just adds to their present problem. It just looks like they inevitably have to run out of gas. That’s fine though, get one more lottery pick in a very deep draft and try to round out the team!

They are better then last year's record at this point, higher in the standings, and have been playing their best hockey recently. The division isn't as strong either and if you look at the schedule it is not a difficult one. There's no reason to thing, unless they regress, that they can't make the playoffs. They won't go far as they can't beat the top 10 teams consistently but unfortunately, these are professionals that aren't just going to mail it in. At this point it is 50/50 whether they make it. We'll know more by the TDL.
