Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 24, 2020
Published: Jan. 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This trade was proposed on nhltraderumors.com so its completely unreliable but wanted to see what it looked like. I actually like the trade, but, as good as Timmons may be i dont think the Rangers really "need" him with K'andre & Nils waiting in the wings(also Rykov/Hajek/Keane/Roberston). If the Avs would swap Sampo Ranta for Timmons i think it would be worth it for Rangers. Or, if the Rags are serious about getting an NHL ready player now, then you could Jost/Kamenev/etc

If rangers acquire Timmins that means it's an end to the DeAngelo era or the Trouba experiment. With Fox and Nils in the wings already maybe it'll mean both. No way sakic pays this price though

Yea, it is just me, but why do Rangers fans think Kreider is this big difference maker. Sure he's a good player, but hasn't propelled the Rangers into greatness.

I've been saying that for years. They're response is, "he plays a hard and heavy game that's great for the playoffs and he almost scores 30 goals a year. And he's really really fast"

Why? because he is a clear first line winger in the NHL. 17 wingers have played 500 games and scored 150 goals since start of 12/13 season. He is one of them. Why do Rangers fans never answer the question? Because its a dumb question and you are too lazy to look it up yourself.

Wow! Awesome response. Nothing says civil debate like insulting someones intelligence. So if Kreider is so good and a "clear first line winger", why has he never eclipsed the 30 goal or 55 point mark? Those seem like low bench marks for "sure first line wingers", no?

Its not like Krieder over here having spent his career playing with McDavid as his pivot. He's a very good player. And he is a better player when the games get tight in the playoffs and that has a lot of value when you are trying to give up the 31st pick in the first round for a guy. As for the points, he's not a sniper. He the guy who screens goalies and redirects or comes flying down the wing. It's a specific highly valued type of player. Is that trade probably an overpay. Yes i would say so, but tis not one of these toronto trades where its guys who cant make their 3rd line are bringing back a potential future no 1 goalie and a top pair defenseman.

At no point did I ever say Kreider was a bad hockey player. I think hes a good hockey player and I think he'll command a first rounder. But i've seen trades on here that consist of packages reserved for elite players. Kreider is not that.

I'll be a happy Kreidless like I am Nashless wink . He is Nick Rash 2.0. Zero puck skill, not a point getter, nor is he aggressive at all, it's simply not happening. Yet on a contender, he would be gold. He has a great presence on and off the ice, like other giant athletes. Quiet, professional, gym rat, freak of nature, durable heavy minute muncher, good defensively. His game is in the goalies face and one of the best at it. So for NYR to resign big long term yuk, to a contender as a rental gold. The best rental with a premium, possible resign or even get a 5th for neg rights in June. This offer is inflated x2, plus we shouldn't be trading Georgiev.

Kaut a Bust, Timmins won't be the same after his Neck injury, This is a very good deal for COL ...Rangers not so much.

I would do this trade as the rangers. Its hard to be sure a 2018 first round pick is already a bust, some guys just take longer to develop. Timmins would also give them an additional surplus of assets to trade at the draft. Id kind of be thrilled with this return from the rangers perspective.

ummm you have no idea what you are talking about
Kaut is in the NHL right now and has played well, PK and solid defensively while already picking up 1 point setting up a game winner. Timmins is have a super strong AHL season, playing unreal defensively while having solid offensive numbers

Dude if you dont know what is going on with another teams prospect, dont pretend like you do with these sort of statements...even as simple as Timmins neck injury. He had a concussion, you couldn't even vet his old injury right
