Teams close to the wild card making moves - PHI and Vegas

Created by: rb1481
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 24, 2020
Published: Jan. 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Comparables:

2 years ago, Tatar got a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. His value and contract for another year are incredible so why would he not bring in a haul?

If you compare a Petry deal to Muzzin who drew a 1st and two B prospects. Petry is far superior to Muzzin, with another reasonable year on his contract.

Armchair GM is exactly where these trades make sense to do. Whether they happen in real life or not is irrelevant. Either comment constructive criticism or don't comment at all.

Flyers are essentially trading 2 first round picks for Tatar and a decent prospect. Even with half retention they'll decline this.

Same said for Petry. These guys are both worth 1st's but adding in a teams most recent 1st round pick puts it over the top. Think both decline

You can argue value all you want, but nothing about them has shown decline. They have been getting better and better over the last two years.

Also, 2 firsts and a Kotkaniemi's punching bag sounds pretty fair...

If Tatar got a 1st, 2nd and 3rd two years ago when his value was lower, why would he not bring in a haul given his nearly PPG year?

and if Petry's comparable is Muzzin who drew a 1st and two B prospects, Petry is far superior to Muzzin, with another reasonable deal on his contract.

I could possibly see us giving up a 1st for Petry, but there’s no way Krebs would be involved in that deal. They feel they got a top 10 player in the draft last year, and moving two firsts for a 32 year old defensemen isn’t good Buisness. I like Petry a lot and feel like something may happen to get him, but that’s a little too rich for my blood

Good points. Maybe that is the Habs ask (because why not), and they meet at a 1st and Schuldt, Elvenes, or Dorofeyev. Alternatively, maybe a 2nd and Hague with some salary retained?

What do you think Vegas would be giving on top on a 1st in their prospects? (Not roster players, only thinking in their pipeline) Just want to see the pov of a vegas fan.
