It'd be fun to see Ryan and Crosby together, and for Ryan to bounce back, but there's absolutely zero chance that they'd pony up even one of those lottery picks, let alone both.

Add all of that to the fact that the Sens can afford for Ryan to suck, and the cap hit is important right now because they need to hit the cap floor.
