2020-21 with Cirelli

Created by: tsyls

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm super curious to see if Tampa would have any interest in this. Tampa has a plethora of C depth so I thought maybe they'd be willing to part with Cirelli if it helps with cap and they get some good players in return.

Cirelli solves the Jets 2C need, we provide tampa with a cheap team controlled player in roslovic as well as a D prospect in Stanley and a 2nd round pick. It may take more but I think it's not a bad trade for both sides. Roslovic agrees to a 2x1.75m contract that gives Tampa some cap room. Roslovic could be swapped with Vesalainen or Gustafsson if tampa wants young talent with a lot of team control.

All the 1 x 875k are just fillers that most likely end up actually being league minimum guys to sit in PB or call ups.

All the 3 x 800k ELC are just guys that could be signed to play with the moose if they have good years. (Chisholm is a no brainer)

I left Cap room as we're gonna need it next year when Laine and Pionk are up for new deals.

They're not short on C depth, they're going to have major cap issues next year. They have to sign Serg, Cirelli, Cernak, Joseph all with 10m in cap space. All their big contracts have NTC. The Jets could offer Cirelli like 4x6.2 in an O/S and it would be cheaper than this (Only a first and 3rd) then Tampa is screwed if they match. Realistically, I'd go as far as Roslovic and a top 10 protected 1st in 2021 for Cirelli but at that point you may as well O/S him for a 1st and a 3rd.

Cirelli is priority #1. Top 6 centers are so difficult to find/develop. Stamkos really isn’t a good center anymore, he’s more suited for a lw role.

Even if TB received an offersheet, they would find a away to make room

I mean to be fair, Stammer and Point as 1&2 C is just fine. I know stamkos is better suited on the wing but with tampas cap space situation you may have to go back to him at C if you move a guy like Cirelli.

Let's look at a hypothetical situation. TBL receives an O/S on Cirelli for 4x6.2. They match instantly, this leaves them with 4.3m in cap space left to sign Cernak, Sergachev and Joseph. Yeah I know they can make it work but it causes major issues. If they try and shed a big contract with a NTC they have to deal with where the player is going and the NTC. They also have to realize that every GM in the league will know the position they are in and most likely bend them over and give it to them no spit no lube. I know they'd make it work but it would cause MAJOR issues down the line for them. I just think that Tampa's GM wouldn't be doing his job right if he wasn't listening to trade offers on all of their RFA's. Like I said I would be willing to give up roslovic and a 1st to acquire Cirelli.

They would trade 1 or 2 of Joseph, cernak, sergachev, killorn before they let go of cirelli. Stamkos really isn’t a solid option at center, too much of a liability.

Killorn has a full NTC... Not sure he's going anywhere. They definitely could move Cernak, Sergachev or joseph to make it work but that hurts them a lot as well. It's just a tough spot for them. I guess I was more so looking for what it would take to get Cirelli, like how much would wpg have to give?

Well... Jets have Chisholm who is having an unreal season in the OHL, he just turned 20 with over PPG in the O. Not sure how much value he carries with his age but...

Jets could move him + Stanley + 1st rd pick for cirelli

One of Sergachev or Cirelli will have to be dealt if they want any chance of having cap room lol. Cirelli easily gets 5m with how he’s playing and sergachev should be getting 3-4.5m Then they gotta sign Cernak and Joseph.

Cause if Tampa tries to move any of their big contracts, they’re blocked by NTC’s. Then if someone waived, the other team bends them over as they know the position they’re in.

Cirelli and Sergachev are not gonna get moved.

Tampa won't care about re-signing Joseph, as he's useless. He'll probably be used as a trade bait at the deadline if JBB makes a move.
Cernak's bridge won't be costly.

Everybodyfreaking out and thinking that Tampa will deal away a future Selke winner and a future #1 Dman is delusional.
Bolts front office will do what is needed to keep their future stars on the roster. As they've always done.

@Rooney

I guess the general consensus was that even though Tampa is going to have major cap issues they're going to somehow magically keep everyone around and there's 0 chance Cirelli or Sergachev get traded...

I guess Tampa's GM is a wizard or something. Not sure how you're going to be able to afford a full roster...
