If Detroit wins the lottery, there is not a logical trade (unless you want to wade into crazy land of players like McDavid, etc...) worth it to give up Lafrenierre... yes, he is that good...

I agree the kid has Huberdeau level talent; but does DET need another W (Bert/Zad/Mantha/M. Ras/etc.) A.LaF can't also be an amazing 2 way C and a top pair LHD too

I get DET has W depth, but you wouldn’t even think about moving the 1 OA pick lol. Especially for a guy like lafreniere.

#1s have been pretty solid of late, but 18 yr olds are never a sure thing....... Cirelli and Sergachev are; C & D still valued higher than LW too. honestly i thought i'd get more ??? from TB'ers

You could get one of Cirelli or Sergachev without giving up 1OA. TBL will likely have to lose at least one of them and then they'll keep the other - so just make a different trade to get one of them and still pick 1OA. No team would trade a 1st OA for that return - especially one as good as Lafreniere.

There isn't a GM in the league that would trade the #1OA pick for that. Detroit doesn't need Lafreniere because they have enough wingers. Really? Really? That is easily the most absurd statement I've ever seen on Capfriendly.com. Take a look at the standings Detroit is 13 points behind the next worst team and then say Detroit doesn't need Lafreniere.

Lafreniere is on a different level than Hughes/Kakko, hes closer up to projected Matthews level ****. Even the 2nd overall would be worth more than this package. To be at the top of this draft with Lafreniere, Byfield, even Raymond and Stutzle are going to be studs. Yeah prospects are no sure thing, but when you win the lottery thats as close as it can be to a sure thing. Cirelli/Gourde is basically the FLOOR of what they can be in as fast as a year or two

Yeah they are deffo wing heavy and laf would add to that. Unless someone is offering up a mid 20s 1st line center you can't move him. You draft him and maybe it's mantha or Bert you have to move for a center.

laugh laugh In what world is Cerilli+Sergachev+Gourde worth Alexis Lafreniere? That's a total joke. All of your trades are laugh bad. AA+2020 DET 5th round pick+2021 DET 7th round pick nets us LA's 2020 3rd round pick+LA's 2021 3rd round pick no way in hell does Yzerman do that deal it's laugh Filppula isn't waiving his full NTC he wants to retire with the Wings. And Helm at half retention by it'self is worth a 4th round pick no no need to add a late round pick to that deal. You sure don't know value?
