Here you're either overvaluing Mitchell or undervaluing Rakell

I really like Rakell, I never forgot how he literally threw his body into the air, at an odd angle, in a desperate bid to stop Antoine Vermette's shot. It worked. Sadly (for him) the second wouldn't be stopped, but that always stuck me with after the series was over.

That being said, I wouldn't trade Ian Mitchell for him. While it is always harder to tell at this stage, I love what I've seen from him, and I think his potential ceiling is higher than Rakell's current one (in terms relative to what the Hawks will be lacking). So I pass.

No thanks, we keep Mitchell and our 1st thank you. Kane is on the right as well as Kubalik (that’s his shooting side), makes no sense when we have Kubalik who’s the #1 scoring rookie this year.

Clearly you aren’t that familiar with Mitchell. In fact, willing to be you’ve never seen him play and your opinion is purely off of a stat sheet like most users here.

Similar to you not understanding a defensive power forward and scoring winger. Points and +/- is a good stat to base value on for casual fans.

Don’t think Ducks or Hawks would want this

Agree, a 1st, 3rd and Mitchell just is too much. Would rather watch Mitchell reach his potential ceiling.

It's not like Mitchell is going to be the next Erik Karlsson, he's probably going to be a good top 4 D.

You do realize you're getting a top-line player making less than 4M here?

Those don't grow on trees. You have to give up value to get value. I know, it's an insane concept.

Mitchell is going to be a solid 2nd liner. We have Boqvist, Murphy and Mitchell so that sets up our right hand D corps for the future. We have Kane, Kubalik, Saad and Cat on the top 6 wings so winger is not a huge need in the top 6. Now we give up a 1st which could be a lottery pick in a very deep draft and our prospect pool is thin...we need that pick. Let's assume it's a top 10 pick, that can easily score another Rakell on a ELC this year.

So no, doesn't make sense for us to give up those pieces for an area that isn't a big must for Chicago.

I’d pass. Won’t pretend to know loads about Mitchell, but a team that is struggling to score shouldn’t be moving their best natural goal scorer.

Completely agree, just a pointless trade from both perspectives. I’m very excited to see Ian Mitchell soon too. However, that being said, considering how we are talking about Mitchell, what in God’s name was the logic behind jokiharju’s trade?

Also, since were on the subject of the Ducks, can we also can any thoughts of a getzlaf trade? Cuz they could just as easily ask for Mitchell in that kind of trade too.

Stan we should keep Mitchell and our 1st. We could pick up someone similar this year from the draft pool though I understand your thinking behind wanting to get 1 more cup in for Kaner and Toews though its defence we need IMO. LHD is a priority for my liking.

I would like having a young LHD stud, but it does not seem like an option because everyone Is looking for that. Our defense is okay, at least combined with our wonderful goaltending, and I am starting to believe the hawks could make a run to the playoffs and catch some teams off guard. God I would love to beat STL in the first round.
