People said the exact same thing about Neal but look at his numbers this year with McDavid.

Edmonton really should've just signed Kovalchuk in the first place, doubt the Habs get a 2nd for him but ya never know, GM's do some dumb things on trade deadline day.

Kovi signed somewhere with a big Russian community . Do not think there are many Russians in Edmonton . Won't be too happy

Ok but it's better for them to play on separate lines. Neither are good skaters and only thier shots make them special. Neal was good with McDavid and draisaitl because they were able to use their speed and skill to open things up so that left room for neal. Having both neal and kovy on a line would make it much easier to defend and because they would be on the same line they would be taking shots away from each other.
