did you even read the deal? Boston gets dumba, zucker, and Donato out of it, while minny gets good young guys, prospects, and a first rounder. didn't think it was perfect, but certainly didn't warrant this reaction.

1st. Dumba for Mac straight up is probably about right. Getting Zucker/Donato/2nd/Foligno as well is ridiculous.

2nd. The point was every time their is a rumor of someone being available there is 10,000 Leaf posts trading the same crap over and over for him.

I fully understand that many leafs fans overvalue their players and often throw the infamous Johnson bracco and Ceci package out there but I was just kinda mad bc I didn't do that. also I'll edit the deal for that

Didnt trade anything elite. Kapanen is a good middle six winger, Liligren probably tops out as a decent top 4 dman but overall Leafs fans seem to think those guys are elite pieces, they're not. It's like when RNH was on Mcdavids wing and Edmonton fans were screaming about how valuable he was, he wasnt McDavid is. Just like this, they're not valuable, the 3 future HOF in that top 6 are.

ok but right now Matthews Marner Nylander and tavares are all worth more than a struggling mcavoy, no question. also Minnesota needs young prospects and picks to kickstart their rebuild, and while young stars would be nice, they are an example of a team where a deal can get worked out where those top guys are not included. If this was a direct trade with, idk, st Louis for parayko for example, then obviously Nylander would have to be involved, but the reality of this particular deal with Minnesota is that they likely don't have to be traded if a solid package for a rebuilder is presented.

Yup there sure will be, Boston and TO generally don't trade much, there just happens to be as large amount of leaf fans on the site if that wasn't case site would be quite boring with everyone agreeing on everything all the time lol
