Severe overpayment for Hertl. Take out Foudy or Marchenko and it's close. As far as Toronto goes, Nuti straight up for Kapanen would require the Leafs to add a bit. Milano would be better as a sweetener for a bigger deal.

You're severely overrating your players

Not sure I would want CBJ to have to re-sign Jones, Z, Hertl all at the same time

Not really overvaluing. The Jackets don't have a lot of top end prospects. So if the Jackets were to deal them it would have to be for a premium. Hertl is good but for that type of return he would have to be close to a point a game player, which he is not.

Columbus isn’t making either of these trade. Hertl would be nice, but you’d have to massively overpay to acquire him and I don’t think Columbus is in a position to pay that much for a player. As for the Kapanen trade all you're doing is acquiring something we already have in a middle 6 wing and a player you end up putting on waivers after anyways...

Not even close on Hertl. Try Marchenko, 2020 first and Texier

Hertl is a great talent, but Foudy is not in play. He is slated as a future top 2C, with huge upside, and could be as good as Dubois in the near future. Maybe Robinson? Or Lilja?

San Jose would want better assets for their #1C.

And for the record, I really don't like the Toronto trade. I think we can do better for Nuti.
