Probably not gonna get smith for that, and may have to add another pick/prospect/player in the zucker deal

If you want a 1st for Zucker, you need to retain some. $5.5M is too much for a non-physical, meh defensively, 45 point guy. However, Angello is just a contract.

Smith is worth about a second as a rental, which I consider the value on Galchenyuk + a fourth to be around.

Best prospect I'd do for Zucker is Hallander, but a tweener like Lafferty could also be added.

Cost controlled for three more years, 45 point guy on a bad team. First + small adds is fair value.

Cost controlled at too much. Rakell is good const controlled. Zucker is expensive.

He would be easy to move in the future. In my opinion, that means he's paid what he's worth but agree to disagree

Hate to see Lafferty go. I don't think he's a 1st liner or even a full time 2nd but I really don't think we've seen his best yet with all the moving around due to injuries.

I'm a bit nervous bringing in a guy with multiple years with that kind of money (Zucker). Look at how Bjustad, Brassard, and Galchenyuk turned out. Imagine if Chucky was signed for another 3 years on his current contract... I think Penguins need to focus on a pure rental and then sign them if it works out. I think it has been somewhat difficult to gauge exactly who will work well with Sid and Geno and it's kind of always been that way.

Zucker has been on the trade list for two seasons and two GM yet he is still in Minnesota. I'll agree with the other 30 GMs.

Eww. No to the Smith trade. If he's traded, it'd be to restock the prospect pool, not to try out a replacement UFA.
