Kucherov at $4.5M is off the mark. That's what Troy Brouwer just got and less than Kyle Palmeiri.

In a world where Mark Scheifele makes 6.1M, Kucherov will exceed that

I can see Dallas wanting Bishop, but retaining $2M for Niemi just isn't something they can afford to do... and you have plenty of CAP to take that hit. That's a tough trade for Dallas. Especially with Jamie Benn getting a significant bump starting next year.

Also, the "win now and worry about next year later" is a brutal attitude that would cost you your job. Think about this, you put all your eggs into one basket and your first place by far just a quarter into the season... then your goalie goes down with an injury that ends his season and you miss the playoffs... (Montreal). You put everything into one season to win, but anything can happen in that one season. Now you lost this season and you are going to lose 4 of your top 6 players because you don't have money. A GM will never make a decision based on what will happen today, its always what tomorrow will bring that is key.

Lol JVR is going to bring them a cup? He is a good player but Drouin and Palat are top 6 players. They could probably use a d man or some depth F's. You have Killorn on the 4th line? Terrible use of a 1st round pick to add something you do not need at all...then next year comes and JVR screws up the cap.
