Other teams might offer more... You're not even including a first this year when the draft is in MTL

Seems good though a team offering a 2020 1st might win out in a bidding war.

I'm not opposed to this but it would really depend on what offers the Habs have to choose from. If the 1sts they are being offered are in 2020 but are from teams like Washington and St Louis, etc, I think I would rather take Edm's offer. Really comes down to preference at this point. I'm not so gung-ho on the pick having to be 2020 just because the draft is in MTL. It has to make sense.

MTL will have interest in 2021 picks because its the Roadrunner's draft
Wildcats 16 year old rookie Zach L-heureux was getting 1st round NHL projections since he was 14

he's over a point per game on one of the most stacked QMJHL teams in the league he pushed out an established player to take his spot .
The Cherry on Top is he was Born and Bred in Montreal .

As time goes on his mentions jumped from 1st round to top 10 as he and Khovanov dominate the Q
His ability to score Clutch Goals will define L'heureux going forward followed by his ability to skate

That being said if the 1st is in 2021 then the second pick should be in 2020 and should be a 2nd not a 3rd.
1st and 3rd is ok if you're giving up the 2020 1st but if not there is a cost

Two useless mouths and two draft picks in the not-too-distant future? I think a 2020 first from non-Cup-finalists would be more valuable than that package. As to speculation about the 2021 draft, I foresee Edmonton making the playoffs next year so the point about L'Heureux is moot.

obviously someone who doesnt understand how much Molson's been willing to Sacrifice to find a player like L'heueux .(just look at what MTL was trying to give up for Dubois before CBJ picked him unexpectedely early . )

EDM's pick and where it lands isnt the point you clearly missed .
Having 2 picks in the first puts MTL in a realistic position to trade up to acquire is needed .

As far as this year realistically unless we win the 1st overall pick with our pick i just dont see us selling the farm team like Burke did in VAN to grab a top 3 pick .
MTL takes its pick wherever it lands and drafts another Poehling or Caufield .

LOL!! From where did you draw that hilariously inane and irrelevant conclusion? So Molson's wants to draft L'heureux. Good for them; they're not as inept as some people think. What does that have to do with whether somebody else would be stupid enough to accept two second-half-of-the-draw firsts and additional compensation for L'heureux?

you're arguing with a fan about stuff you just dont get.

Molsons are bad owners plain and simple . since the sold in 71 they are responsible for 2 of the cups we won that's it .
Each time they mess up they sell then the new owners draft a bunch of English players and hire an English Coach and set them up for a decade .

i've been a habs fan for over 3 decades .
Been to games , learned the history and supported the team no matter how stupid it gets.
the one thing i always look forward to is the point when Molson messes up bad enough they're forced to sell .

key example in illistrating their damage
Molson bought the team a week before the draft i believe it was in 2009 and drafted 1/2 french players taken in the previous 7 seasons i believe it was .
He choose Leblanc over Kreider who fitting Gainey's draft pattern under Gillette Ownership would have drafted as he most importantly fitted a huge need . (instead we played Darche top 6 LW SMH)
imagine if Molsons incompetence and prejudice was held off for just a week or two letting Gillette's team do 1 last draft .
in 2014 when Carey Price faced NYR it would have been Kreider in Habs colors .

that's just 1 of many examples of how stupid we get with Molson as owners but this time around they've also have a guy as President of Hockey Operations and CEO who's pissed away almost every asset left to him and busted now 6 first round picks since 2011 .Molson was left Halak , Emelin , Plekanec , Price,Higgins, Pacioretty , Subban ,Mcdonugh and a half a dozen players he just dumped for older guys for a failed playoff run Molsons first year back .(we gave up a lot for that failure to )

To understand the unique management style of MTL you really gotta live through and experience how stupid things can get.
For once though im hoping for it as i watch L'heaueux regularly and he's everything we need and more .
The last time i saw a Wildcat with this much impact as a Forward his name was Brad Marchand (who played a more skilled game in Junior in BOS he developed his Licking habits :P )
