bruins dont want kreider

they wont part with their best prospect to dump cap

miller should just sit on IR still

ive already tried getting kreider (without the inflated cost of including cap dumps) and it didn't go over well with the fans.

Boston says No. Too much.

They don't really need to dump Backes. It would help, but not necessary.

assets vs buyout = They should be able to re-sign everyone and not move Backes.

Miller is a good player. Albeit always hurt, but a good player. He could get a 3rd or 4th rd pick from somewhere else.

Krieder for a 1st and a Zboril or Axelsson would be my deal. (any prospect other than Studnicka, Lauzon, Vaak, Beecher, Frederic or Lauko).

He would be a rental on an expiring contract set to hit FA. I have no doubt some team will overpay, but Kreider has never had more goals than 28 goals.

I don't see them moving Urho with Chara being 42 and Krug unsigned. He is the future on LD

Just like last trade deadline and the one before and the one before, the prices arent these wild permutations. Kreider is going to go to 1 of Boston, Colorado, St Louis or mystery team 4 at 50% retained for a late 2020 1st Rd pick and a B-/B/B+ prospect. The price is the price and there are clearly teams willing to pay it.

I think it’s a bit too much. Not necessarily my opinion (though I’m leaning towards it), but Sweeney apparently freaking loves Vaak. Wouldn’t even discuss him or Studnicka in talks for Mark Stone last year. I don’t think you’re too far off however. Maybe a d prospect closer to the NHL but with a lower ceiling like Zboril. Lauzon might be a fit there, but I kind of feel like sweeney is in love with him too, and he’s looked pretty good in call ups this year. Lauzon is pretty legit, how about sub out Vaak for Lauzon, and add Andersson? I don’t really know where his value is at. High pick, but seems to have struggled. That said, the bruins need young centers like crazy.

Agree. Rangers fans like to point out Nash deal.

A) Spooner stinks and the Bruins knew it.
B) You are still paying Matt Belesky.
C) Lindgren and a 1st (pretty much what you said).
D) Nash would have worked and re-signed had he not had a career ending concussion.

They didn't give up a ton for Nash.

I am a Rangers fan and this is EXACTLY what the return will be. Same as for Hayes last year. The only negotiation will be which is the best prospect they can possibly get back between a B- and A- type grade. Any team that gives more than that is a desperate overpay and the 1st rounder will be a the 25th - 31st pick. The Rangers will then package that pick with their own 1st to move up and grab someone in a position of need such as LW or C

I cant wait till the rangers price themselves out of the contender sweepstakes and end up letting kreider walk for nothing.

uhhhhh what? beleskey had a 3.8m contract bruins got out from under almost 2m of what is dead cap hits. they also sold high on spooner. if nash doesnt get a career ending concussion he had a chance at being a force. he was a step late when he rushed back from the injury and then retired in the offseason.

Sending Beleskey to the minors saves what? 1.1 million or so? It’s right around there so I’m going to use that figure. So Beleskey in the minors carries a cap hit reduced from 3.8 to 2.7. They’re currently carrying 1.9 for retaining on Beleskey. 2.7-1.9= 800K.

That would be a savings of under 1 million dollars.

The bruins gave up spooner (laugh all you want, but at the time of the trade he had 25 points in 39 games), a good prospect who is now an NHL regular, and a 1st rounder. I think that would be enough assets to get rid of that entire 3.8 cap hit, don’t you?

not with the term remaining on his deal. the rangers werent going to take 3.8m for the next 2.5 years for a guy that scored 3 goals in 63 games. spooner had a couple good progessing years but IDK about you but i could tell sitting up in the 300s that he wasnt a top 6 player and that he wasnt a center. he was too weak on the puck, similar reason donato is struggling in the nhl.

A 1st, a good prospect, and spooner is enough to eat 2.5 years of 3.8 million. No question.
