Kings take a salary dump, lose a goalie signed low through next year, Lewis, an actual young speedy prospect, down-grade their 5th for Ian Scott and Bracco. I think you are asking a bit much.

Ottawa will most likely get better offers for Demelo, especially if he signs an extension as part of the deal. They'll think about getting quality over quantity and likely get a 3rd and a better prospect or a 2nd round pick.

Leafs have no use for Hayden. So scrap that idea.

Kings trade is just a bit ridiculous. Although Campbell has regressed this season, they're likely not gonna move him. He's signed for 2 more years after this at a cheap deal and they're more likely to move Quick and use Campbell as the goalie during the rebuild. Although a guy like Trevor Lewis would be a very good fit in Toronto. Wouldn't think he'd be too expensive though, maybe get LA to retain since he's a pending UFA.

Side note: trade Petan straight up to get Casey DeSmith from Pittsburgh to solve the backup issue instead. It's about equal value

DeSmith has no value. .903 sv% in the AHL being paid $1.25M for 2 more years after this one and he's lost his spot in the NHL to Jarry and Murray. Petan is over a point per game in the AHL and he's looked good in limited NHL games & he's on a cheap contract. Pittsburgh is getting the better part actually..

What value does DeSmith have? You seem to be able to put an opinion in but with no facts to back it up. Nice.

Hes part of the future in Pittsburgh. They wont resign both Jarry and Murray this summer with DeSmith on a multiyear term already. Why would they trade that for a guy whos got 3 points in 16 nhl games this season? Even if hes a ppg player in the AHL, he hasnt been able to translate that to NHL success.

You clearly haven't watched Petan. He's got the skills and underlying numbers that suggest if he's given more ice time, he'll produce. He's just never been given the ice time because Toronto is too deep at forward.

And DeSmith is 28 and a career backup goalie. Teams don't generally keep players as "part of the future" if they'll be nothing more than a backup. He's easily replaceable and probably for cheaper than paying him $1.25M to play in the minors.
