You’re seriously overestimating the talents of Alex Iafallo

ok - i get the fit here and i like the idea of going at this guy. He does have more value this year given he is on a good contract for two years. Still, this is not a first line guy outside of LA, and as such does not get that return. Where LA might require an overpay to pry him out, we are talking something like Sanford and a 2nd or Barbashev and a 4th

Really? The talk of the town for Kreider is a first and Sanford. Iafallo is a better goal scorer, which is what we need at left wing. He's also signed for next year at a very cheap contract. Swapping Sanford for Iafallo gives us more scoring for an additional year at roughly a $1.5 million bump.

My thinking is you add a poor-man's Jaden Schwartz at an extremely reasonable cost. If the thought is not to move Kostin, perhaps a guy like Toropchenko is moved with Sanford instead? Add to that he is signed for an additional year.

He’s having a nice year but I’m positive you could get him for way cheaper

Good. Then maybe I overshot. Perhaps Walker or Torp are the prospects (due to the extra contract year). I see Iafallo as a poor man's Schwartz who could thrive on either top six lines. I love how cheap he is too with having to re-sign Petro and Dunn.

I bet you could get him for like a 2nd round pick, Sanford, and Walman

I'd prefer that over a Kreider move and, depending on the cost, a Taffoli move. I love Taffoli, but not at an exorbitant cost.

Left wing scoring.

For a top prospect and a first round pick?

For that price, I think Kreider is your guy. Its not crazy to imaging him re-signing in St. Louis this summer either

I agree that Kreider landing in STL is a likely possibility.

Iafallo is fine, but that's way too high for Iafallo. I personally wouldn't give up a first and Sanford for him let alone throwing in Kostin. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of giving up a first for Kreider, but he's the best choice for the Blues because he plays the style the Blues do.

Eh? No, he's not a better scorer. And being signed for next year does not help us. It just makes it that much harder to sign Petro. This is waaaaaaay too much for Iafallo.
