I'd be shocked if Poile couldn't get a least a 2nd for Granlund -without retaining or adding assets. His poor numbers in NSH don't seem to be based on diminishing skill or effort. Very high chance he rebounds nicely, with a change of scenery.

This may be a silly question, but why bother retaining salary on a deadline deal for a UFA? Could understand the retention if his contract had term, but doesn't seem like it'd really do much given his cap hit would be prorated. Is Boston that tight against the cap?
