Pens laugh and hang up. Wouldn’t even trade Marino alone for Petry at 50% retained and Kovalchuk ?

Pens deal might be an overreach, especially given the superb marketing job your title does.

The Flyers deal is interesting, but are two second-rounders (Ratcliffe and a pick) the best the Habs can do for Tatar? I'd probably shop him a little more before agreeing to this, which feels like a (meh) compromise.

If pen's don't want to trade Marino then I'd swap him for a 2020 1st rd pick. Pen's would have a hard time finding a winger to join crosby. Right now there are 25 teams who think they can make the playoffs.

Haha, good point, bad marketing on my part.
It's funny, cause I think generally people are underrating Zamula (undrafted) and Ratcliffe. Both are great prospects. Zamula is a Russian P-p-G player in the WHL who played really well at the World Juniors.
Ratcliffe is like a 6 ft 5 winger who can skate and likes to hit. He's also played with Suzuki. I wish Mtl had bigger players and this guy would be awesome.

Saw a lot of Ratcliffe last year in the OHL playoffs. He is big, but was underwhelming. Can't speak for Zamula but I think the Habs would want prospects who are closer to contributing if they're giving up a player with a little term left on his contract.

Montreal is already getting a first round prospect in POJ and a top prospect in Hallander. Now way will the pens give up another 1st round pick for a guy that’s going to get stuck as a 3rd pair dman. Plus Kovalchuk wouldn’t be put on Crosbys line. He’d be most likely put on Malkins. Another thing is that Sully like Simon with Sid and has McCann there now as his other winger. So if they want a winger for Sid, they’d want an upgrade over what they have now. Not a downgrade.
