EDM isn't interested in that deal, but maybe CGY is. Three of their 4 RD's are leaving to free agency this summer.

I like the ANA deal. I don't want to give up Wahlstrom, but I love Rickard Rakell and this does get us out of Komarov's contract (although he's been okay in Clutterbuck's spot).

I'd want more in the WPG deal, but it's interesting. It depends on how much Roslovic signs for. At $2M it's worth it.

I'd definitely bring in a guy like Kulak. A 3rd seems like a bit much, but I'd live with it.

There's no way we can swing a deal like the EDM one. Boychuk, first off, hasn't been bad, and those kinds of deals just don't happen often. The Marleau deal was weird, but it was better for CAR because he only had one year left on his deal.

Overall good job.

Barzal would be better off on a bridge deal for around $7M per year, then signing a huge contract afterwards.

It's a possibility but I wouldn't do it. If you can get him at $9M I'd go 8 years. If you sign him 3 x $7M you'll just have to pay him $12M long term after that due to increases in league revenue.

An 8-year deal right now means he'll be 31 when he's up for his next deal. In other words, you've paid him for his prime years and nothing more.

I wouldn’t mind doing that

honestly i think he'll invest himself and do what matthews did and set himself up to cash in a massive contract at a prime age 26-27 like something around 8x13m. maybe doing 4 yrs x 8m as isles won't let him go to free agency at the end of his RFA period.
