Mitch Marner For Connor Murphy

Created by: AnalyticsGeek
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 28, 2020
Published: Jan. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’m watched game yesterday & was not extremely impressed with Mitch Marner. Honestly he hasn’t looked great even in the last couple of games. Every time there’s a chance to push forward, he backs off. Doesn’t play very aggressively at all. He’s not getting involved in the offensive zone. He isn’t possessing the puck & illustrating the cycle. He was doing these things last year but now his confidence seems to be extremely low. It’s like he’s scared of making a mistake and being made the scapegoat. Even when he does have the puck he’s trying to over complicate his plays. Perhaps a change of scenery would be good for him.

    Wtf?

    1) Marner's way more valuable than this
    2) DET is not moving their 1sts.
    3) Murphy isn't even close to being that valuable

Well, that’s my opinion on Mitch Marner’s play. You can disagree with it all you want.

No I think that’s a lot of value to give up for Marner.

I don’t know what Connor Murphy’s value is. From I heard he is a really good and reliable shutdown defenseman with a strong physical presence. Right handed as well. Can eat up minutes. That’s gotta be worth a lot.

Marner isn’t gonna last in Toronto. He’s being made the scapegoat. The fans & media will run him out of town like they did with Kessel.

No one is buying it. A guy who scored 94 points at the age of 22 and is on pace for 101 points over a full season isn't the bag of crap you keep calling him. One can only draw two conclusions from your antics.

You either are just trolling Leaf fans

    or

    You are just an idiot

I think you are likely just trolling Leaf fans.

Only time will tell. In a "Down year", he's still head an shoulder better than Nylander and now Nylander's the savior some how.

Trust me man, I am a huge Mitch Marner fan, but he's not getting it done for the Leafs. The last few games have been underwhelming for him and his overall play hasn't been great all season. There's been flashes of brilliance but then there's also nonsensical moments. As a Pens fan living in Toronto, I think Marner could benefit from a trade sooner or later.

He is on pace for 100 points if he played a full season. Not sure how a 100 point player could possibly not be getting it done. I don't think you are an idiot, so you must be a troll. The rest just doesn't compute.

I do think Marner is more talented than Nylander and it is true that Leaf fans are making Nylander to be the best player in history based off a 40 goal 72 point season, though it is impressive.

Yeah we all hate Marner now. That's why we didn't vote him into the All-Star Game, because we hate him so much.

Kessel got bounced from the Penguins too.

Once again, I am a big Marner fan and I think he’s a great player. It’s just been very hard supporting him this season because whenever I go onto social media, I see fans bashing him. It doesn’t seem like he can play good enough to satisfy them.

Penguins fans loved Kessel but the media hated him so they ran him out of town. But this season the fans and media have all been going after Marner, and the more heat that gets thrown at him, the more he seems to crumble.

Yep, Marner is crumbling alright. Crumbling directly onto the scoresheet every game.
