Preds would do it - I think he could really turn it around though given some consistent line-mates and players like Skinner on his wing.

I think you guys can get (and deserve) more for Colin Miller (and the second-round pick you spent to acquire him) than 30 games from Alex Galchenyuk.

I agree with you, the only thing that scares me is his contract. Could be another Okposo

Miller is a healthy scratch most nights. I think he is not the player that Botts thought he was! Maybe Pitt adds a pick to that deal but at this point I dont think Miller has much value

He still looks good on the PP and he has been putting up points playing with AHLers and 4th liners this year -- less obviously, but he still is. He was playing well at the start of the year when injuries hit on a line with Duchene and Granlund (I think it was Granlund) and he got the majority of his points then. So give him good line-mates and he plays fine and produces. He was on pace for like ~50 points before they stuck him on the 3rd/4th line with non-offensive players. But regardless of all of that, you're right, it is a big risk for anyone to trade for a 30 year old center with a $6m cap hit for another 4 years after this season. So who knows

Well, I hope for your sake you can salvage something from this move.

I find the Buffalo situation this year fascinating. I think that Botterill has a chance to really "ladder" some draft choices by trading away guys like Miller, Sheary, Vesey, Girgensons, Bogosian, etc. Say he gets a fourth each for Sheary and Vesey and a fifth for Girgensons (a survey I've done of the last 125 Sabres posts gives those average values for them, each one being traded at least a dozen times). Botterill can probably then trade a fourth and a fifth for a third twice.

I see what you are saying here, but that puts us into the realm of "rebuilding"! This team has been rebuilding since '07 he needs to start building and stop tearing it down year after year! By time the draft picks pan out Eichel and Dahlin will be retiring! Lol
