A 2nd is way too much to give up for Patteryn IMO. He's a third pairing guy, Toronto doesn't need that and doesn't need to spend a high draft pick to get it.

DeSmith makes too much sense for Toronto not to be knocking the door down. Not sure what the holdup is, maybe they want a bigger return?

Too much for a guy like Pateryn when those types of guys don't move the needle for Toronto.

I've been mentioning DeSmith to Toronto for awhile. Even last summer I said they shoulda been after him or Jarry and look at Jarry now. But there's no need for those picks to be involved. Straight up a guy like Petan or Aberg (personally is move Petan) and then add in Hutchinson if Pittsburgh wants to keep their depth should get the deal down. DeSmith isn't even light up the AHL right now so he won't cost an absurd amount of picks

Just thought Ceci would need a good pick to go back, that’s what people commenting on my GM’s keep telling me when I only send a 4th and him for a 6th

Why trade Ceci at all? Is Ceci for Patteryn worth the assets?

Ceci has been quite playable as a bottom pair in Keefe's system. Sure he's overpaid, but you can't change that.
