Description
Trading Allen for cap space should be easy considering how well he has played and how many teams need a 1B goaltender...I wish it were easier to trade Steen but I cannot see him waving his NTC for anyone after playing here so long so I chose to ship off Bozak and his M-NTC. (10 teams)

Columbus has had stellar goaltending recently, so probably need a different trade partner there.

That’s easily the biggest no from Anaheim.

Agreed, I think it would take the 1st and Kostin and more, unless ANA likes Kostin more that STL does... which looking at his production, I doubt. Rakell would be an awesome add if the Blues were confident they could shed the cap to keep Pietro around. But I doubt the Ducks would consider anything except a big overpay. Maybe they ask for Kyrou + Sanford + 1st? At that point do the Blues want to go there? ELC players are hard to lose.

The only reason for trading Rickard Rakell would be to acquire at least one good RhD, and so Anaheim is a bad fit for St Louis because Pietrangelo and Parayko are too much and Faulk and Bortuzzo are too little. We need someone just right.

My ideal thought could be Pietrangelo and a first. However is Pietro resigns with the Ducks, the first goes back St Louis

Pietrangelo AND a first for Rickard freaking Rakell??? That's ludicrous. He's our captain and our elite top pairing RHD. How do you work that out to be ideal?

I don't think you know how good Pietrangelo is, or you vastly overvalue Rakell. We're trying to win another cup right now, why would we trade away our captain and top pairing RHD? Do you think this team is better with Rakell on it or Pietrangelo? Rakell is a very good player, but there's also a very clear answer to that question. I'm very confused as to how you think that's ideal unless you're a ducks fan, in which case, yes it's very ideal for you.

I understand the conditional pick, it doesn't matter. Pietrangelo for Rakell straight up is too steep for the Blues. We're not giving you exclusive bidding rights on an elite RHD (who happens to be an integral part of our team) for two months and a 1st round pick if he spurns you for a pretty good forward we do not need all that badly.

Just guessing...but if the above poster is correct and Anaheim re-signs Petro, we get the 1st back. That looks like a Petro for Rakell and a 1st winner to me! smile

Well, no, it'd be Pietrangelo w/ extension for Rakell straight up, considering the first round pick they give us back would already have been ours to begin with, and that's a severely lopsided deal in it's own right. In fact, I'm not exactly sure how it would work- if we traded our 2020 first, and the ducks don't sign Pietrangelo until the week between the draft and July 1st, they will have already used our first round pick in the draft. So what, do we not have a pick in 2020 and they would give us a 2021 first? That's silly. Rakell is good but not worth losing Pietrangelo for the playoff run and and moving our first round pick to a less valuable draft if he stays in Anaheim.
