Absoluely not. It leaves the Leafs with no blueline at all and no picks. As good as Leon is.

You do. Also Draisaitl is overrated. He's a terrific player, no denying but what is he away from McDavid. I'd wager if McDavid got hurt, Edmonton would lost almost every game.

I wouldnt say he is overrated, hes a pretty good player. Not saying the leafs should do it, it was more of a joke. But Draisital is a pretty good player dude. Sure McDavid might inflate his numbers but what is McDavid without someone like Drai? Def not on pace for what he is on right now thats for sure

McDavid would be a 100 point player with just about anyone. He really is that good. Draisaitl is a very good player no doubt, but I am not sure he's even a point a game player without McDavid. I would put him behind a lot of players. Honestly I am not sure I'd value him as highly as Rielly. The proposed trade here is just ridiculous.

Lol Drai has 10 points in his last 5 games without McDavid. I think he has played his last 8 games without McDavid. But I am to lazy to look right now. He just needed som wingers that were not pylons.

I feel like I should give you a chance to dig into those numbers and take another run at this. But you are too lazy (you said it first) so I'll do the digging first.

In the past 5 games, Draisaitl does have 10 points.

4 of those came on the powerplay where he does play with McDavid.

Another 2 came on empty net goals (1 assisted by McDavid, the other was a secondary assist)

4 of those came with McDavid possibly not on the ice.

So even though they are not playing as much time at 5v5 as earlier in the season, McDavid is still contributing to half of Draisaitl's points. If you take away PP points from those two, they are also far less impressive this season than one would think. Draisaitl is a really good player, but he is not at all the worlds best, or close to it. There are many players I would rate better than him. He is extremely good though, just not the a super elite.

Now do Alex the great. And tell me he is not the best goal scorer ever. Lots of his goals come on pp.

Rielly on a team friendly contract.

Sandin looks like a future top 2 dman. They could be very important to our team for a long time. No thanks good offer tho.

If Drai is over rated at 8.5. I would hat to hear what you think of Marner and his 16 million dollar price tag

Sure, but to say he got 10 points without McDavid when half of his points came with McDavid on the ice is false.

I think his contract is proving to be fine. I just need Draisaitl to be dominant without McDavid to make him a super elite.

Just to add. Reily and Sandin cost 6m, Draistail 8.5m, and then the Leaf have to add a 1m Dman so the Leaf lose on the cap 3.5m. So overall the Leafs probably won't be better and they lose the picks too.

I consider Matthews and Marner super elite. How many points do they have without each other. Not many, same line and they put the puck in the net. They are super elite.

Dude you have to stop talking when you don't know what you are talking about. Matthews played half the season without Marner and he's leaf the team in points from the get go. Marner gave Tavares his best season and scored at a 90 point pace when playing with Kadri and Marleau the year before. Both have proven they can carry people.

Before marner signed his contract, the narrative was that tavares carried marner ?

Only from idiots who wanted to justify him getting less money. I always thought he was elite. Figured he would get about a million less

You are confusing super elite with someone that can drive his own line. Kurri was super elite, Alexander the great is super elite. Marner can drive his own line.
"Marner gave Tavares his best season and scored at a 90 point pace when playing with Kadri and Marleau the year before" Is this a four man line?????? Sounds like you do not know what you are talking about, You know only 3 forwards play together. Tavares and Nylander are elite as well, how many points do they get with out each other. I am using those guys as an example, all 4 usually play with each outer, do you want the link I am on that says exacly how much they played with each other so you can tell me I dont know what I am talking about again. Let me know, I will put the link on here.

Draisaitl is still a dominant 90-100 pt player without McDavid. The guy put up 51 pts (58 pt pace) as a 19 year without playing with McDavid all year. The thing with the oilers is they have bottom 6 caliber players playing in the top 6 - very few players in the NHL can carry scrubs on their line - tavares, Crosby, panarin, and McDavid are the only players that come to mind.

If marner was on a line with Trevor Moore and kerfoot, his numbers would take a hit. That does not mean he’s not a dominant player.
