Description

Fluery has been lackluster in Carolina and may need a change of scenery/new system to find his game on a constant basis at the NHL level. I’m just not sure how he is valued in Carolina with Jake Bean getting closer to being called up next year on the left side.

As for Vesalainen, I honestly have no idea how Winnipeg values him and his slow-ish development. I feel Vatanen can get a 1st rounder from other teams, but can the addition of a consistent bottom 6 guy like Wood, with a little bit of term, be enough to push it through?

I’m definitely open for constructive criticism to see what other fan bases think Vatanen is worth as a right handed rental with offensive upside.

Even if Vesalainen' value has dropped it's still not worth throwing him away on a rental and Wood has very little extra value to make it worth adding Vesalainen for.

Gotcha. I thought it may be a bit too much for the return, but that’s why I proposed it. Definitely helps me gauge other teams assets better.

Personally I think he's a bust but other Jets fans are still pretty high on him, regardless I'd never trade him for a rental, I'd use him as a sweetener to get an RFA or a guy with a good amount of term left.

Who knows with Chevy though, he's been ****ing up for awhile now so maybe he'll do something stupid and give him away.

They dont need to retain salary for a deal with the Jets. The jets could take on like 3 of vatanens contracts if it happens right at the deadline. For carolina, they would probably have to do so.
