That is very little value going to New Jersey in this deal. Adding all those conditions when they could probably just get more in a different deal doesn't help either.

No way Anaheim makes that trade, and why would the Leafs do it?

Looking back at the NJD i agree, As for the TOR-ANA. ANA has stated they are willing to take cap dumps in order to receive draft picks for it. A Mid/Late 2nd seemed about right for a dump for Ceci, As for WHY TOR makes the deal if they want to acquire ANYONE this year for a potential run it has to be Johnsson,Kappy or Ceci to free up cap space as you can tell one of these are not like the others in terms of importance to the team.

I'm not so sure Anaheim turns that down. Del Zotto is a UFA and the modest burden of Ceci's remaining salary and a future sixth is a small price to pay for a draft pick that may be #45 overall (or better).

I think they may be able to do better and I think Toronto would like to keep Korshkov. His skills will translate to the nhl nicely. I’m not convinced this is the right kind of target and I know dubas doesn’t like rentals.

I agree; however, TOR has been reported unwilling to trade Roster players & unwilling to trade their 2 big defense prospects with Robertson being untouchable (Thank God) So that leaves very little prospects in the pool to trade. You wont be able to acquire any help on the blueline that will make a difference without giving up something decent that projects to play in the NHL. my hope would this trade would be made with both NJD & TOR having a sign & trade agreement in place.

I mean, I guess it's fine. It's probably close, although I'm sure NJ would prefer to have picks for this upcoming draft. And neither one of those prospects is a guaranteed NHLer, Korshkov is maybe a third line guy and Duszak likely AHL.

I still don't like the Anaheim deal. Giving away a 2nd round pick for a cap dump after we have already given away a first round pick this year seems silly to me. If that's the price to add Vatanen, well, I would say don't add Vatanen. He's not particularly impactful at 5 on 5 and doesn't fit the mold of a defensively responsible guy the Leafs might want anyway. You just can't convince me our organization is better off after these deals. Adding any RHD at any cost is not going to help.
