3rd, condition of a 2nd if resigned with a mid level prospect

AJ Greer and the conditional pick? Only roster player that avs could move would be Matt Nieto and I dont think that does anything for either team. Tough for any playoff team to touch their NHL roster who would be interested in Haula. Wont be able to get a middle 6 forward to replace Haula from a playoff team.

If you aren't getting a first or better you shouldn't trade him unless you fall out of the race.

If you flip it around are the canes could enough to trade a 2nd or 3rd to get a top 6 forward for a cup run? The answer is yes.

Admittedly i don't know much about AJ Greer. Agreed on the fact that Nieto won't do anything for us. Yeah, we're in a tough situation where teams that would want Haula can't touch their roster. He'll probably be our season rental like we did with Ferland.

I could see us using him as our rental like we did with Ferland last year. Besides Dillon, I wonder who we're after.

My suggestion has been a return of Jost + a 3rd/4th that slides to a 2nd/3rd if Haula re-signs or COL makes SCF.

I feel like a trade with EDM would make us want someone like Puljujarvi coming back too

I could see that being a really good trade for both teams.

Haula isn't at that tier of player to justify a Jost level played. Sorry thats just way too much to give up
Jost and a 2nd gets you a Kreider. Haula just isn't at that level to warrant that return

We probably have to agree to disagree, but I think Haula is definitely that tier of player, but has never been given the role of 2C. Haula's biggest flaw is his injury history, though, and that would make me think twice from COL's perspective. Kreider is a complementary winger, Haula has 2C potential and plays PP1 and PK's. If not for the injury history, I would take Haula over Kreider everyday of the week.
