I think those numbers look about right. I think Jarry's number fluctuates a little based on how he finishes off the season. I think the McCann number is about right on. Murray will probably go for more (6 million) based on the cups. Depends on how he finishes the year.
I do not think that Schultz comes back. I see Bjugstad getting traded at some point. I also think GMJR will probably try and move JJ if possible to make another move. We shall see.

My guess is Jugs has to be moved. But then you have to find a 3C. And who do you find cheaper than 3 million so I don't see much cap savings. Unless they play Blueger there. Not sure how they feel about that. Personally I like Blue he's a good 4C so far. But he's really a defensive guy and they want someone strong on the dot.
As of right now, they don't have anyone to play 4C if he did play 3C. Maybe Lafferty? He's really an AHL guy though. Nikkita if he can play from Penn St. or maybe Hollander can come play 3C if he's ready. But it's all question marks.
They do move him though they have no choice. Because they will have to find a 3RD. Marino will probably get his bonus and then they are cap strapped.
So what they can save cap wise on a 3C is gonna be needed for a RW unless they can move Hornqvist or JJ. And good luck with that at this point.

I very interested in 1. Seeing how Schultz plays when he comes back from injury and how he falls into the fold of the emerging Marino on the right side 2. What the market will even look like for Schultz in the offseason. I don't think he is widely regarded as a good defenseman. I think the league knows the Penguins make the most of the skills in defensemen they have any whether that translates to your team is a bit of a risk. That being said, he could easily get like a $7M contract on the open market.

There is such a desperate need for defense in the league. Schultz can basically name his price.

McCann can play 3C, then they just need a winger

I don't think they want him there. Why have him on the ice for 15 minutes when he's one of your fastest and best players. When he can play LW and be on the ice for 20.

Without Jake yes, with Jake, I think you'll see Kahun on Geno's wing, I think he is a better winger than McCann and McCann is a better C than he is a W anyway. I don't think they will keep him on the LW when they are healthy...as it stands now, McCann only sees about 15 min of ice anyway...Kahun 13...the games he actually did hit the 20 min mark, he was playing either 3C or 2C. Realistically, the only forwards that average around 20 anyway are Jake/Sid/Rust/Geno. 15 is the right number for McCann.

I think you are wrong there. I think he's a better winger than Center. And I think Sully has tried to limit ice time for Geno which drives Geno crazy. But he tries to keep that team balance. But when games count expect to see more of him. And if I had to put the 6 best players on the ice for 20 minutes a pop, McCann is one over Kahun.
McCann is the perfect winger for Malkin. He has a shot, he's not scared to shoot, he's fast, plays N/S and the best part is he's really defensively responsible. Much like Rust on the other side.
In the Arms race of the NHL I really see that as the future move. If they could just find a good RW to put opposite Jake for Crosby this team is a cup winner. Be it this year or next.

I think when Jake is back next year, McCann will be the 3C. However, if the Pens could pull a deal to swap Bjugstad for/bring back Bonino, I think that would be ideal. To an extent, I think GMJR regrets letting Bonino get away for the reasonable deal that he got.

I think they let Bonino walk due to the break in his ankle. They wanted a cup run. He wasn't going to be the same for a year. He was not that good the year after he broke his leg. It took him a year to heal.
They knew they weren't winning a cup with him that year. So they moved on.
Would they like him back now probably. But then again, I think they would rather go younger.
