Never understood why division foes feel like they can't trade...

I understand if we're talking about superstars, but does either side think Kapanen or Miller is going to make the other side SO much better that you don't want to even try and better your own team?

Especially when it's so painfully obvious the Leafs need RHD/D in general and the Sabres need scoring

Fwiw I'd also accept Kerfoot or Johansson from the Leafs in this type of trade, or would trade McCabe... I picked Kapanen because he seems to be the most available of the 3, but I could be off on that.

I think this trade is fair...it suits both needs...Plus you are correct, middle line players can be trade inter division....Superstars should not...

I highly doubt teams like PIT/PHI or TOR/MTL would ever trade but other than that I agree with you

I dont think Leafs are gonna trade Kapanen to rival for barely top-4 RD. They would need someone better to even entertain the idea. Johnsson for Miller would make sense.

Right, I should clarify I'm not trying to pretend BUF/TOR is anywhere as big as those are. Toronto is Buffalo's biggest rival and I know the feeling is not mutual. All the more reason to do this

So you would have Kapanen over Johnsson... do you think that is the general consensus in TOR when talking trade value? I see a lot more Kapanen trades posted than Johnsson's. Honestly, I'll take either for Miller
