Agreed. Probably a bit of an overpay, but I think Pageau would fit really well in their bottom 6.

It's a gross overpay. Pageau is good though.

What the hell is that OTT trade, we don't even know if JGP would be an upgrade over Blueger the way he fits perfectly with Tanev and ZAR, and you're giving up our best d spec AND a first (that GMJR said he wouldn't give for TAYLOR HALL!!!)

Pageau is a great 3rd line role playing C. Valuable to a playoff team. I think Pit could try to squeeze something better than a 4th out of Ottawa to balance it out. Even if they overpay I think it's worth it to take as many shots as they can while Sid and Malkin are still playing at the level they are.

That Pageau trade is laughable. I wouldn't give up Addison or a first in a deal for him. He is good, but he is a rental. If Pastrnak was a rental he might get this kind of return...

Why pay top dollar for a guy who on most other teams is a 3rd line center? JGP is having a career year because he is playing 3 minutes more per game(19:09) this year than his career average(16:08). He is playing on a top line and getting regular pp time. He will play nowhere near that in Pittsburgh. As a reference Blueger and McCann both play about 15:30 a night. To give up a 1st a top prospect and a young center who anchors a really good shutdown line for a Rental 3rd line player is just dumb and horrible asset management. JGP will not score at the same pace or have an impact in a reduced role for the Pens.

I like Craig Smith but Nashville doesn't need another goalie.

Marleau old, slowed down, no thank you.

- Maybe I should rethink what PIT gives up for Pageau, maybe, just 1st and another pick or different prospect.
- Marleau is old, but somehow now slow. Go look at his goal the other night.
- Nashville does need a goalie. They have 2 underperforming goalies both on short term deals. And Rinne likely retires in a year.

Addison and a 1st for Pageau? Not giving Addison OR a 1st for UFA Pageau who you even say will go bottom 6. Just because there are no stars in rumors it doesn't mean that you grossly overpay for complementary guys.

The thing is, this only helps the pens for 1 year. All the guys they get are either going to be UFAs that are looking for the big money in the offseason so the pens couldn’t re-sign or pending UFA’s that are going to retire and are way past their prime. And the pens are giving up nhl ready guys that are already a big part of the team or going to be nhl ready in a year that are hopefully going to be big parts of the team for the rest of crosby and malkins careers. So it’s a trade of 3-5 more possible cups for 1 that’s a little more possible. Would make zero sense.

Addison has near 1st value.

Pageau will fetch a 1st, but Addison + 1st is too much.

People are talking about how much opportunity Pageau has, but he isnt on PP. A lot of his time comes from PK. He is getting 60% Defensive zone starts.

Wow that OTT trade is foul for the Pens. How high were you when you made this? Or did your cat jump on the keyboard and accidentally hit "Add to Trade"?
